We hereby tender our resignation as Assessors of the Town of Dedham for the ensuing year, said resignations to take effect March 2, 1891.

COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS.


NORFOLK, SS. To either of the Constables of the Town of Ded- ham, in said County, Greeting :


You are hereby required, in the name of the Commonwealth aforesaid, to notity and warn the inhabitants of said Town of Dedham, qualified to vote in town affairs, to assemble at Memo- rial Hall, in said town, on the first Monday in March (being the second day of said month), A. D. 1891, at seven o'clock in the forenoon, then and there to act on the following articles, viz .:


Article One-To choose a Moderator to preside at said meeting.


Article Two-To choose all necessary Town Officers. The following are to be chosen by ballot, under the provisions of Chap. 386 of the Acts of 1890, viz .: One Town Clerk, one Town Treasurer, one Collector of Taxes, three Selectmen, three Sur- veyors of Highways, three Assessors, one Overseer of the Poor, three members of Board of Health, three Auditors, nine Consta- bles, all for one year; two School Committee for three years ; two

School Committee for one year; three Trustees of the Public Library for three years ; one Trustee of the Public Library for two years. And also upon the same ballot to vote upon the question : Shall license be granted for the sale of intoxicating liquors in the town ? All town officers except as above named are to be chosen for one year.

Article Four-To see if the Town will accept the list of Jurors, as prepared by the Selectmen, and posted according to law.


Article Five-To see if the Town will authorize the Collector of Taxes to use the same means as Town Treasurer may use when acting as collector.


Article Six-To hear and act on the report of the committee on the distribution of the interest of the Damon and Draper do- nation, and choose a committee to distribute the interest the ensuing year.


Article Seven-To see what sums of money the Town will raise to defray the incidental and other necessary expenses, not otherwise provided for, of the Town for the ensuing year.


Article Eight-To see what sums of money the Town will raise and appropriate for the decoration of the soldiers' graves.


Article Ninth-To see what sums of money the Town will raise and appropriate for the Dedham Public Library.


Article Tenth-To see if the Town will raise and appropriate money to keep the cemeteries in Dedham Village and West Dedham in repair.


Article Eleventh-To see what rate of interest the Town will authorize the Collector to charge on all taxes not paid Nov. ,1891.


Article Twelfth-To see what sums of money the Town will raise and appropriate for payment of the salaries of the school teachers and Superintendent of Schools the ensuing year.


Article Thirteenth-To see what sums of money the Town will raise and appropriate for repairs and care of the school- houses, for fuel, grading of school grounds, and furniture, and supplies for the same.


Article Fourteenth-To see what sum of money the Town will raise and appropriate for school stationery and text-books.

Article Fifteenth-To see if the Town will appropriate the amount received from other towns for scholars attending the pub- lic schools in Dedham for contingent expenses of the public schools.


Article Sixteenth-To see what sum of money the Town will raise and appropriate for chemicals and physical apparatus and supplies for the High School.


Article Seventeenth-To see what sums of money the Town will raise and appropriate for repairs of highways, sidewalks, and lumber for repairs of bridges and railings.


Article Eighteenth-To see if the Town will accept Quincy avenue, between Winthrop street and Dale street, as laid out by the Selectmen, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Nineteenth-To see if the Town will accept a new street from Oakdale avenue to River street, as laid out by the Selectmen, and raise and appropriate money for the same. -


Article Twenty-To see if the Town will accept a new street from Bussey street to the Avery school-house yard, as laid out by the Selectmen, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Twenty-One-To see if the Town will place electric lights on Common street, from Bridge street to West street, thence on West street to Dedham avenue, and thence on Dedham avenue to the Needham line.


Article Twenty-Two-To see if the Town will extend the electric street lighting service on High street, from the Baptist Church in West Dedham to the Walpole line, and raise and appro- riate money for the same.


Article Twenty-Three-To see if the Town will place an electric light on Thomas street, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Twenty-Four -- To see if the Town will light High Rock street and Hartford street, between High and High Rock street, with electric lights, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Twenty-Five-To see if the Town will place an elec- tric light on Oakland street, East Dedham, and raise and appro- priate money for the same.

Nahatan streets, through Nahatan street to the Unitarian Church, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Twenty-Seven-To see what action the Town will take as to lighting the streets and public ways of the town all night, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Twenty-Eight-To see if the Town will light High street, from the church in West Dedham to Bridge street, and Bridge street to Boston line ; or High street to Washington street, and Washington street, from High street to Boston line, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Twenty-Nine -- To see if the Town will widen and improve Thatcher street, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Thirty-To see what action the Town will take with reference to establishing of a fire alarm and a police telegraph, and the proper maintenance of the same, including comfortable quarters for the Fire and and Police Departments, in connection therewith.


Article Thirty-One-To see if the Town will vote to cause a hydrant to be set on Whiting avenue, East Dedham, as recom- mended by the Board of Engineers, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Thirty-Two-To see if the Town will vote to purchase a Hose Wagon, to be located in East Dedham, in house of Niagara, No. 3, as recommended by the Board of Engineers, and saise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Thirty-Three-To see if the Town will adopt the pro- visions of Chapter 58 of the Public Statutes, empowering Select- men of towns to appoint one or more persons to be inspectors of provisions and of animals intended for slaughter.


Article Thirty-Four-To see if the Town will adopt certain amendments, made by the Cemetery Commissioners, to the rules and regulations respecting the conveyance of the burial lots in Brookdale Cemetery.


Article Thirty-Five-To see what action the Town will take with regard to determining the number and terms of Town Offi- cers to be chosen by ballot at future elections.

with reference to improving the Sidewalks of the Town, and the establishment of Cross-walks.


Article Thirty-Seven -- To see if the Town will vote to au- thorize the Selectmen to instruct the Superintendent of Streets to pay men employed upon the highways two dollars per day, and that nine hours constitute a day's work.


Article Thirty-Eight-To see what action the town will take in regard to replacing one or more of the Lowry Hydrants of the Dedham Water Co. with Post Hydrants, or the discontinuance of one or more of the same, as recommended by the Board of Fire Engineers, and raise and appropriate money for the same.


Article Thirty-Nine-To see what action the Town will take with reference to the compensation of the Collector of Taxes, as provided in Section 6, Article 3, of the Town By-Laws.


Article Forty-To see if the Town will vote to repeal Section One of the Town By-Laws, of Town Meetings and rules for gov- ernment thereof ; of the By-Laws relating to the appointment of a Committee of Twenty-One, who have heretofore had power in the recommendation of remaining articles in the town meeting warrant after the election of town officers.


Article Forty-one-To see if the Town will amend its By- Laws with regard to Truancy.


By-Laws of the Town require the Polls to be open at seven o'clock, and remain open till thirty minutes past four in the afternoon.


Hereof fail not, but make return of this warrant, with your doings thereon, unto the Selectmen, on or before said day and time.

gal voters of the Town of Dedham, aforesaid, to meet at the time and place, and for the purposes specified in said warrant, by posting attested copies thereof in each of the post offices in said town, and in twenty other public places in said town, seven days at least before the day of said meeting, and by causing a copy thereof to be published twice before the time of said meeting, in the Dedham Transcript, a newspaper published in said town of Dedham.

The meeting was called to order at the time and place named in said warrant, by the Town Clerk, who presided at the choice of Moderator.
