Norfolk, ss. At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Dedham, in said County, qualified as by the Constitution is required, to vote for civil officers, holden at Memorial Hall, in said town, in accordance with the foregoing warrant, on Tuesday · next after the first Monday in November, being the eighth day of said month, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hun- dred and eighty-seven, for the purpose of giving in their votes for Governor of the Commonwealth ;
Lieutenant-Governor of the Commonwealth ;
Treasurer and Receiver-General of the Commonwealth ;
Secretary of the Commonwealth ;
Auditor of the Commonwealth ; Councillor for the Second Councillor District ;

All the ballots given in therefor were sorted, counted and recorded, and declaration thereof made as by the Constitution is directed, and were for the following persons, namely :
For Governor of the Commonwealth.
Whole number of votes was 926. Oliver Ames, of Easton, had 512 ; Henry B. Lovering, of Lynn, had 384; William H. Earle, of Worcester, had 12; Charles E. Marks, of Plymouth, had 16; Henry L. Peirce, of Boston, had 2.
For Lieutenant-Governor.
Whole number of votes was 927. John Q. A. Brackett, of Arlington, had 516 ; Walter Cutting, of Pittsfield, had 382 ; John Blackmer, of Springfield, had 11; Asa F. Hall, of Hudson, had 17; T. W. Killikelly, of Dedham, had 1.
For Treasurer and Receiver-General.
Whole number of votes was 928. Alanson W. Beard, of Boston, had 521; Henry C. Thacher, of Yarmouth, had 379; John L. Kilborn, of Lee, had 10; Isaiah Dunn, of Boston, had 17; James Carney, of Dedham, had 1.
For Secretary of the Commonwealth.
Whole number of votes was 927. Henry B. Peirce, of Ab- ington, had 527 ; John F. Murphy, of Lowell, had 373 ; Amos E. Hall, of Chelsea, had 10; Joshua T. Small, of Provincetown, had 17.
For Auditor of the Commonwealth.
Whole number of votes was 927. Charles R. Ladd, of Springfield, had 519 ; William F. Cook, of Springfield, had 379 ; Edmund M. Stowe, of Hudson, had 11; Arad H. Wood, of Lu- nenburg, had 17; Elisha Greenhood, of Dedham, had 1.
For Councillor for the Second Councillor District.

For Attorney-General of the Commonwealth

For Senator for the Second Norfolk District.
Whole number of votes was 922. Enos H. Tucker, of Needham, had 515 ; Bushrod Morse, of Sharon, had 397 ; Charles W. Hodges, of Foxborough, had 10.
For County Commissioner for the County of Norfolk.
Whole number of votes was 908. George W. Wiggin, of Franklin, had 494; Edmund Davis, of Hyde Park, had 405 ; Robert C. Habberley, of Hyde Park, had 9.
For Representative to the next General Court for the First Norfolk Representative District.
Whole number of votes was 909. Frank A. Fales, of Nor- wood had 542 ; Owen J. Reynolds, of Dedham, had 336 ; Charles Congdon, of Norwood, had 17; E. Scott Morse, of Dedham, had 2; Howard Colburn, of Dedham, had 2; F. F. Favor, of Ded- ham, had 4; P. A. Nolan, of Dedham, had 1; J. A. Laforme, of Dedham, had 1; John Crowley, of Dedham, had 1; D. G. Hill, of Dedham, had 2; James McCaslin had 1.
The meeting was called to order at seven o'clock A. M., by the Town Clerk, who read the warrant, and the polls were at once opened. The Selectmen of said Town presided, and the polls were closed on motion, at four o'clock and fifteen minutes in the afternoon. The Selectmen appointed Howard Colburn, of said Dedham, as teller to aid them in receiving, sorting and counting the ballots, and said teller was duly sworn by the Town Clerk be- fore entering upon the duties for which he was appointed.
In receiving all the ballots cast, the check list prepared by the Registrars of Voters of said town, was used. All the ballots cast for the offices named in said warrant were deposited by the voters into the box called the Standard, approved and provided by the Secretary of the Commonwealth, and said ballot box regis- ter showed the whole number of ballots cast at said election to be 931, and the voting list showed the same number of names checked thereon.

Certificates of said ballotings, signed by the Selectmen and attested by the Town Clerk, were sealed up in open town meeting. The ballots as cast into the box by the voters were duly sealed up in an envelope certified to by the Selectmen, and placed in the custody of the Town Clerk, and the check list used was also sealed up and certified to by the Selectmen on the envelope con- taining the same, and then, on motion, the meeting was dissolved at 5.54 o'clock P. M.

The Clerks of the Towns of Dedham and Norwood, in the County of Norfolk, comprising the Norfolk Representative Dis- trict number one, at their meeting held at Memorial Hall, in said Dedham, on Friday, the eighteenth day of November, A. D. 1887, at twelve o'clock noon, said day being the tenth next after the day of election, made out under their hands the following complete re- turn of all votes cast for Representative to the General Court in . said District as follows, to-wit :
Whole number of votes cast, thirteen hundred and ninety- one (1391). Frank A. Fales, of Norwood, had eight hundred seventy-one (871) ; Owen J. Reynolds, of Dedham, had four hun- dred sixty (460) ; Charles Congdon, of Norwood, had forty-three (43) ; George Hill, of Norwood, had two (2) ; F. O. Winslow, of Norwood, had one (1) ; E. Scott Morse, of Dedham, had two (2) ; Howard Colburn, of Dedham, had two (2) ; F. F. Favor, of Ded- ham, had four (4) ; P. A. Nolan, of Dedham, had one (1); J. A. Laforme, of Dedham, had one (1) ; John Crowley, of Dedham, had one (1) ; D. G. Hill, of Dedham, had two (2) ; James Mc- Caslin had one (1).
