SECT. 3 .- All such sums of money received by the town aforesaid, shall be entered upon the books of the treasury of the town in such a manner as will state the purposes for which it is received, and the town treasurer shall annually pay to the trustees aforesaid, interest on all sums so received, giving to sail trustees at the same time a detailed statement of the amount of interest which has accrued on the said several sums so held by him; and said Several sums of money so received by the trustees shall be by them appropriated for the purposes set forth in the several sections of these by-laws in such a manner .. . shali, in their opinion, best promote those purposes. AN ACT PROVIDING FOR ASSISTANT TOWN CLERKS.


Be it enacted, etc., as follows :


SECTION 1. The town clerk in any town may appoint an assistant town clerk, which appointment shall be in writing, and said assistant shall be (luly sworn to the faithful performance of his duties ; and such appointment and oath shall be recorded in the records of the town. Such assistant may, in the absence of the town clerk, perform any and all duties which the town clerk could perform if personally present, but such assistant shall not be entitled to any salary or fees as, such, and' his compensation, if any, shall be paid by the town clerk appointing him ; but such assistant shall collect all fees for services performed by him and account to the town clerk there- for during the time he may act as aforesaid.


SECTION 2. This act shall take effect on the first Monday of March in the year eighteen hundred and ninety-three. . [ Approved, March 6. 1898

In Youravance with the foregoing warrant the Inhabitants of the town of Westborough. qualified to vote in elections and town affairs, wet and at 8 oclock am were called to order by the Town Clerk who proceeded to read the Warrant and under Article 1 Edwin . Harvey was chosen Moderator. 2 Voted, That for the purpose of procuring a temporary loan to and for the use of town in anticipation of the lives of the present municipal year, the town treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to borrow from time to time with the approval of the board of Selection a sum on sus in the aggregate amount not exceeding Thirty thousand Dollars ($30.000.) and to execute and deliver the note on notes of the town therefor payable within one year from the time the loan is made with interest thereon at a rate not exceeding 6 per cent per annun. In accordance with the unanimous voto of the election officers the fallsi fot was opened at 10o clock and 231 ballots taken therefrom, and at 1:30 oclock pon the boy was opened and 319 ballots taken therefrom.
