ARTICLE 58. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of acquiring by

purchase, a parcel of land in the Cedarville section of Pre- cinct 5, to be used for a construction site for a fire station building, or take any action relative thereto.

Voted: (Unanimously) That the Town raise and appro- priate the sum of $2,100, for the purpose of acquiring by purchase a certain parcel of land on Hedge's Pond Road in that part of Plymouth called Cedarville bounded and de- scribed as follows: Beginning at an iron pipe on the westerly side of Hedge's Pond Road; thence N 61° 30'W, 165 feet, by land, now or formerly of George W. Nightingale, to an iron pipe; thence S 28° 30'W, 124 feet, by land of said Night- ingale to a point; thence running southeasterly by land of Calzolari 205 feet, more or less, to said Hedge's Pond Road, thence by said road northeasterly 130 feet to the point of beginning; containing 22,940 square feet, more or less; of which $2,000, shall be for the purchase of this par- cel of land and $100, shall be for expenses of acquiring titles and adjusting the taxes for the year 1965.


ARTICLE 60. To see if the Town will vote to continue the Committee to study, survey and recommend as to the need for construction and location of new facilities to house the Police and Fire Departments as authorized under Article 75 of the 1964 town meeting; and to appropriate the sum of $5,000, for plans, specifications, and to survey proposed sites; said committee to report back to the Town at the next special or annual town meeting.

The meeting was called to order by the Moderator at 7:35 o'clock P.M. The number of Town Meeting Members present was 149 as per records of checkers Robert Marvelli and Arsene Strassel, 2nd; the Moderator declared a quorum present.


ARTICLE 61. To see what action the Town will take for the disposal of the Cornish and Burton Schools and make an appropriation therefor or take any action relative thereto.


Disposal of Cornish and Burton Schools -- Recommendation to be made at Town Meeting.


Voted: That the Town raise and appropriate the sum of $3,685 for the purpose of razing (according to specifications provided by the Board of Selectmen) the two buildings known as the Cornish and Burton Schools. Said appropria- tion to be expended by the Board of Selectmen.


Mr. Freeman moved that the Cornish-Burton School Study Committee appointed by the Moderator under Arti-

cles 71 and 72 of the March 1964 Annual Town Meeting be allowed to continue its existence until the 1966 Annual Town Meeting and it was so voted.

The Moderator read the report of the Committee to Study Advisability of Fluoridation of Water Supply in the Town of Plymouth; Article 68 of the 1964 Annual Town Meeting.


ARTICLE 62. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to purchase and erect a memorial in honor of all veterans who have or will have served in any war. Said appropriation to be expended under the direction of the Board of Selectmen.

ARTICLE 63. To see if the Town will accept and allow as a town way Kings Pond Plain Road from Federal Fur- nace Road northeasterly about 1,700 feet, as laid out by the Selectmen and reported to the Town, and make an appropria- tion for expenses of acquiring titles.

Mr. Theodore Jesse moved that the Town accept and allow as a Town way, Hedge Road from the railroad north- easterly about 200 feet to Brick Kiln Road as laid out by the Selectmen and reported to the Town, and make an appro- priation of $100 for expenses of acquiring titles, and it was so voted, unanimously.


ARTICLE 69. To see if the Town will accept and allow as a town way Brick Kiln Road from Hedge Road northeast- erly about 500 feet to Plymouth Harbor, including as part of the layout a lot of land 50 feet by 120 feet leading directly to mean high water; as laid out by the Selectmen and report- ed to the Town; and make an appropriation for the purchase or acquiring of land, and expenses of acquiring titles.

ARTICLE 72. To see if the Town will accept and allow as a town way Plymouth Street from Cape Cod Avenue northerly about 200 feet to Melix Avenue as laid out by the Selectmen and reported to the Town, and make an appro- priation for expenses of acquiring titles.

ARTICLE 73. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to abandon a portion of a drainage easement on the northwesterly side of Emerson Road as laid out and accepted by the Town on March 26, 1949; said portion of drainage easement measuring 10 feet by 50 feet and lying on Lot 197 of Land Court Plan No. 5279I, Sheet 2.

ARTICLE 75. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to abandon as a town way, a portion of West- erly Road as laid out and accepted by the Town on March 24, 1928; said portion of Westerly Road being about 150 feet long and lying adjacent to and northwesterly of another por- tion of Westerly Road which was abandoned by the Town on March 29, 1962; and make an appropriation for the expenses therefor.

ARTICLE 76. To see if the Town will convey a deed of that portion of town-owned land described on the Assessors' maps as "a portion of Westerly road" to Arthur C. Caranci, said portion being adjacent to the land of said Arthur C. Caranci and appearing on the Assessors' map on Plat 30.

ARTICLE 78. To see if the Town will vote to sell to William A. Dearn and Ernest A. McGrath the land present- ly leased to them on the Town Wharf Lot, being Lot 17-A and a 50-foot right of way from Water Street Extension to said lot. By petition: William A. Dearn, et al Sale of Town Wharf Land - Recommendation to be made at Town Meeting. Planning Board disapproves.


Mr. William Dearn moved that the Town sell and the Selectmen be authorized to convey to William A. Dearn and Ernest A. McGrath, co-partners, that portion of Lot 17-A on a plan entitled "Land at Town Wharf," Plymouth, Mass., Scale 1"-40 feet, dated September 1, 1962, Edward Chase, Engineer," presently leased to them, which lies south- westerly of a line which is parallel to and 40' distant south- westerly from the northeasterly line of said Lot 17-A to- gether with a right of way, in common with others, enti- tled thereto from said lot over the 50-foot way as shown on said plan leading from said premises southwesterly to Wa- ter Street; at a price to be determined by the Selectmen but not less than $7,500.00.

ARTICLE 79. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell to John D. Shea Lot No. 44, Plat No. 17 as shown on the Assessors' Plan, known as the Low Service

ARTICLE 80. To see if the Town will vote to approve the construction of a new housing project by the Plymouth Housing Authority namely, a housing project for elderly persons pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 667 of Massa- chusetts Acts of 1954, and Acts in amendment thereof and in addition thereto, to be known as State-Aided Housing Proj- ect 667-2.

ARTICLE 81. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the re-location of the sewer on Stafford Street; said appropriation to be provided by money in the Town Treasury received from Howard A. Flynn for this purpose.

To see if the Town will vote to amend the Zoning Map so as to change from R-15 to Commercial the land enclosed within the following boundaries: beginning at the intersection of Nick's Rock Road and Ocean View Ave- nue; thence by Ocean View Avenue to Liberty Street; thence by Liberty Street to Westerly Route; thence by Westerly Route to Oak Ridge Road; thence by Oak Ridge Road to the State Highway No. 3, as laid out in 1948; thence by the State Highway to the northeasterly ramp at Cherry Street as laid out in 1958; thence by the ramp to Nick's Rock Road; and thence by Nick's Rock Road to the point of beginning.

Mr. Robert Benea moved that the Town change from Residential 15 Zone to Commercial Zone the following de- scribed area:


Beginning at a point on the northwesterly side of Lib- erty Street, 300 feet southwest from the intersection of Liberty Street and Ocean View Avenue; thence in a south- westerly direction a depth of 300 feet along the northwest- erly side of Liberty Street to Route 3. Also that section of land which is bounded on the northeast by Westerly Route, on the southeast by Oak Ridge Road, on the southwest by Route 3, and on the northwest by Liberty Street.


Voting by a show of hands, 37 in the affirmative, 75 in the negative, the motion to amend was lost.


Article 85. To see if the Town will vote to change from R-15 to R-10 zones to Neighborhood Business Zone, an area beginning at the property line between land of Dorothy Mcpeck and land of Eugene and Nancy Rapoza and extend- ing south westward along Federal Furnace Road to the north- west side of South Meadow Road between Lot 14 and Lot N 1-5 South Meadow Road, a depth of four hundred feet from Federal Furnace Road; or any portion of said tract. By petition: Evelyn G. Dearn, et al Zoning Map Amendment -- Disapproved. Planning Board disapproves.


No action taken under Article 85.


ARTICLE 86. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money to purchase certain radio equip- ment and associated facilities for Plymouth Civil Defense, or take any other action relative thereto; and that any funds received from the Federal Government or the Common- wealth toward such costs be returned to the Treasury of the Town.
