Article 29. To see if the Town will appropriate, in ac- cordance with the provisions of chapter two of the acts of nineteen hundred and thirty-nine, all or any portion of the funds distributed to it from the Highway Fund under the provisions of chapter 500 of the acts of 1938, for any of the purposes authorized by said chapter two; or will take any action relative to said funds and said chapters, or anything therein mentioned.


Article 30. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation under the provisions of law authorizing the assess- ment of betterments, for the original construction of public ways in the Town, the laying out of which is accepted at this meeting, including land damages and the cost of pave- ment and sidewalks laid at the time of said construction ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 31. To see if the Town will authorize the ac- quisition by purchase, eminent domain or otherwise, of any land, easements or rights therein, including an easement or easements in land adjoining the location of any or all public ways, the laying out of which is accepted at this meeting, consisting of a right to have the land of the location pro- tected by having the surface of such adjoining land slope from the boundary of the location; make an appropriation for such acquisition ; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 32. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation or appropriations for the relocation, alteration and widening, construction of, specific repairs upon and im-

provement of all or any part of the ways within the town as now existing or hereafter relocated, altered or widened, in- cluding land damages, if any, under the provisions of law authorizing the assessment of betterments or otherwise; said appropriations to be used with a sum or sums allotted by the Commonwealth or County or both for this purpose; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action in any way relating to all or any of the foregoing.


Article 33. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation or appropriations to pay the claims or charges of Symmes Arlington Hospital including such claims and charges for aid, relief or care furnished prior to January 1, 1939, to persons falling into distress and standing in need of immediate relief; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action re- lating thereto.


Article 34. To see if the Town will grant to the Symmes Arlington Hospital, a corporation duly established by Chapter 146 of the Acts of 1902 (hereinafter called the "Hospital"), a full and free right of way in common with the Town and others at any time entitled over a portion of the Town's land shown as "New Private Way" upon a plan entitled "Plan of Land in Arlington, Mass. showing Loca- tion of Old and New Private Ways to Symmes Arlington Hospital. Scale 1" = 40' November 1938 James M. Keane, Town Engineer", filed in the office of the town engineer, and bounded according to said plan southwesterly by the northeasterly side line of Summer Street 70.44 feet; north- westerly by land of owners unknown 162.82 feet, and by other land of the Town on a curved line with a radius of 321 feet, 225 feet more or less ; northeasterly by land of the Hospital 45 feet, more or less, and southeasterly bv other land of the Town on a curved line with a rad us of 281 feet, 239 feet more or less, on a straight line 148.01 feet. end by a curved line with a radius of 31.27 feet, 46.14 feet : and will release to the Hospital the Town's right of way over the portion of the land of the Hospital bounded according to

said plan southwesterly by land of the Town 40 feet, more or less, northwesterly by other land of the Hospital 19.31 feet, northerly and northeasterly by other land of the Hos- pital on the southerly line of the "New Private Way" as shown on said plan, 102.37 feet, and southeasterly and south- erly by other land of the Hospital on the southeasterly side line of "Old Private Way" as shown on said plan 88.52 feet ; upon receiving from the Hospital as a part of the same transaction a grant of a right of way over the portion of said Hospital's land marked "New Private Way" on said plan, and a release of all the Hospital's rights in the portion of the Town's land marked "Old Private Way" on said plan other than the right to maintain water and sewer mains as at present located, provided always that no such grant or release shall in any way affect the existing rights of the Town or the Hospital, except as herein expressly set forth ; or will take any action relative to rights of way or other- wise, to the lands of the Town and the Hospital, or to any- thing hereinbefore mentioned.


Article 35. To see if the Town will transfer the sum of one-hundred & ninety-six (196.00) dollars from (Mt. Pleasant Cemetery) Sale of Lots and Graves Fund to the (Mt. Pleasant Cemetery) Perpetual Care Fund; will appro- priate the sum of one-hundred (100.00) dollars to be ex- pended from said Lots and Graves Fund or otherwise, for the acquisition of an unused lot or rights therein, in said Cemetery, or take any action relating thereto.

Article 36. To see if the Town will make an appro- priation to be expended under the direction of the School Committee for the purpose of providing transportation for certain pupils attending the Russell School and Junior High Industrial Arts School; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended ; or take any action re- lating thereto.
