Article 33. To see if the Town will make an appropria- tion for maintaining, repairing and improving all or any part of the ways within the town; said appropriation to be used with any sum or sums which may be allotted by the Commonwealth or the County of Middlesex or both for such purpose or purposes; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action in any way relative to all or any of the foregoing.
Article 34. To see if the Town will make an appropria- tion or appropriations for Work Projects Administration projects and for the employment of the poor; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.
Article 35. To see if the Town will make an appropria-

tion or appropriations to pay the claims or charges of Symmes Arlington Hospital including such claims and charges for aid, relief or care furnished prior to January 1, 1941, to persons falling into distress and standing in need of immediate relief; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relative thereto.
Article 36. To see if the Town will make an appropria- tion for the purchase of a five thousand watt auxiliary power supply unit for the use of the Police Department; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relative thereto.
Article 37. To see if the Town will make an appropria- tion for the purchase of a special service (emergency) truck with tools and equipment for the use of the Fire Depart- ment; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relative thereto.
Article 38. To see if the Town will make an appropria- tion for the construction of a vault in the basement of the Robbins House for the use of the public welfare department or otherwise; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relative thereto.
Article 39. To see if the Town will pay to all or any of · its officers and employees who enter or are drafted into the military or naval service of the United States all or any portion of the difference between their next prior rate of compensation paid by the Town and their military or other compensation received from the United States; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended'; or take any action relative to such officers, employees and pay- ment.
Article 40. To see if the Town will make an appropria- tion to be expended by the Board of Public Works for the erection or construction of a fence enclosing any portion or

all of the Town Yard property situated on Massachusetts Avenue and Hobbs Court, determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action re- lating thereto.

Article 41. To see if the Town will sell and convey to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to be used under the Metropolitan District Commission in connection with the construction, maintenance and operation of a system of metropolitan water works a certain parcel of land two hun- dred (200) feet square, situated upon Turkey Hill, so called, acquired by the Town for water purposes by order of taking dated September 22, 1913 and recorded with Middlesex So. Dist. Deeds September 30, 1913, book 3826, page 149, and also a right or easement to use for water purposes and as a way or otherwise a parcel of land forty (40) feet wide ex- tending from Dodge Street to said parcel of land two hun- dred (200) feet square, being a portion of the land acquired by the Town for park purposes by order of taking dated September 22, 1913 and recorded with said Deeds, Septem- ber 30, 1913, book 3826, page 147, and being located sub- stantially as shown upon a plan marked "Commonwealth of Massachusetts Metropolitan District Commission Water Di- vision Northern Extra High Service Pipe Lines Proposed Standpipe, Force Main and Access Road. Turkey Hill-Arl- ington Scale 1" = 40' January 1941" on file in the office of the town engineer; will petition the General Court for any necessary or desirable authority to sell, convey or otherwise dispose of said parcels of land or either of them or any inter- est therein; will specify the minimum amount or considera- tion to be paid for such conveyance; or will take any other action in any way relative to said parcels, said land ac- quired for park purposes or the disposal thereof.

Registry District of the Land Court and noted on certificate No. 40764 in registration book 272, page 525, relating to the rights or easements for all purposes for which a way might then or at any future time be used in the parcel of land described in an order of taking of the Joint Board of Selectmen and Board of Public Works of the Town dated February 23, 1937, registered March 3, 1933 and noted on said certificate No. 40764, said parcel of land being in part 8.5 feet wide and shown on a plan on file in the office of the town clerk entitled "Plan showing Proposed Alteration, Tufts Street, Arlington, Mass. Scale 1" = 40', Dec. 22, 1936, James M. Keane, Town Engineer"; or take any action relating to said deed, conveyance or parcel of land. Said parcel is bounded and described in said deed as follows:

To see if the Town will appropriate the sum of four thousand dollars ($4,000.) to be expended under the direction of the School Committee, for the purpose of removing the present roof, repairing the under-construction, and installing new roof over gymnasium and auditorium, and replacing copper flashings where needed, at the Junior High School East building; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.
