Article 61. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the reconstruction of any or all parts of certain public ways in the Town, the laying out of which is accepted at this meeting including costs of acceptance, land damages and the cost of paving of any or all sidewalks to be laid out at the time of said reconstruction; deter- mine how the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 62. 'To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropri- ate, or transfer from available funds in the treasury, a sum or sums of money for the reconstruction of any or all parts of Jason Street; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 63. To see if the Town will make an appropriation to determine fully the Town's right, title and interest in Town-owned land known as the Great Meadows located in Lexington, and to provide for a land survey and the installation of suitable markers to define the boundaries of said land; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.

To see if the Town will acquire by purchase, eminent domain, or otherwise, for municipal purposes, the parcel of land with buildings thereon hereinafter described, any portion thereof, any interest or easements therein and any rights or easements of way or otherwise as appurtenant thereto; and subject to or with

Article 66. To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to acquire by purchase, eminent domain, or otherwise, a portion of Mill Brook, from Park Avenue to the Arlington Reservoir for flood control purposes and any land adjoining said brook which may be necessary for the aforesaid purpose as hereinafter described, any portion thereof, any interest or easements therein and any rights or easements of way or otherwise as appurtenant thereto; and subject to or with reservation of any rights or easements therein; make an appropriation of money for the purpose aforesaid; deter- mine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating to any or all of the foregoing.

Article 67. To see if the Town will transfer the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) from the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Sale of Lots and Graves Fund to the Cemetery Commissioners for the improvement of the Town Cemeteries.

Article 69. To see if the Town will make an appropriation to convert the existing manual interior fire alarm systems to an auto- matic call system in all schools not presently connected with the Fire Department in order to provide immediate contact with the Fire Department when an inside fire alarm station is activated; deter- mine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 70. To see if the Town will vote to accept the gift set forth under Clause Fourth of the Will of Henry E. Dodge, to be expended under the direction of the Trustees of Robbins Library; or take any action relating thereto.

To see if the Town will make an appropriation to furnish and install an elevator in the Robbins Library including any reconstruction work which may be necessary to house such an in- stallation; determine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 72. To see if the Town will vote to appoint a commmit- tee of five comprised of the Chief of Police, the Chief of the Fire Department, the Director of Civil Defense and two Registered Voters of the Town experienced in radio communications to investigate, consider and make recommendations relative to the replacement of the Town's radio broadcasting and receiving system in accordance with the directives contained in Docket 12295 of the Federal Communications Commission said committee to report not later than the 1960 Annual Town Meeting; appropriate a sum of money for use of said commit-

tee; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.


Article 73. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the use of the Arlington Brotherhood Committee in its promotion of understanding and amicable relations between persons and groups, juvenile and adult, in the Town, and the assistance to other agencies, public and private, concerned with such matters; determine in what manner such sum shall be raised and expended; or take any action in any way relating to all or any part of the foregoing.

Article 74. To see if the Town will vote to make an appropria- tion of a sum of money to be expended under the direction of the Committee on Swimming Conditions at Arlington Heights Reservoir Beach and the Town Manager, for cleaning, leveling and graveling of a beach and possible aeration of water; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action thereto.

Article 75. To see if the Town will make an appropriation for the installation of a sanitary sewer to service the lower end of Churchill Avenue, adjacent to Menotomy Rocks Park, including an outlet sewer through Menotomy Rocks Park to Jason Street; deter- mine in what manner the money shall be raised and expended; or take any action relating thereto.

Article 77. To see if the Town will amend its Zoning By-Laws by altering the zoning map therein referred to so as to include in the residence C District the area now included partly in the Resi- dence B District and partly in the Residence A District, bounded and described as follows:


1. Southwesterly of Massachusetts Avenue, from Boulevard Road to Whittemore Street, the area between the present Business A and B Districts, and a line 300 ft. southwesterly of, parallel to and con- centric with, the southwesterly side line of Mass. Avenue.


2. Northeasterly of Massachusetts Avenue, from the northwest- erly side of the Industrial District at Sunapee Road to Broadway near Franklin Street, the area between the present Business A and Residence C Districts and a line 300 ft. northeasterly of, parallel to and concentric with, the northeasterly side line of Mass. Avenue.


3. Southwesterly of Massachusetts Avenue, from Academy Street to Davis Road, the area between the present Business A and Resi-

dence C Districts and a line 300 ft. southwesterly of, parallel to and concentric with, the southwesterly side line of Mass. Avenue and to include the present Residence A District east and west of Appleton Street and excluding the School property known as the Cutter School, between Robbins Road and School Street.


4. Northeasterly of Massachusetts Avenue, from Clark Street to the easterly side of the Industrial District east of Mill Lane, the area between the present Business A District and the center line of Pierce Street and the northwesterly extension thereof.

SOUTHWESTERLY by land now or formerly of Lewis J. Jacob- son, one hundred feet;


NORTHWESTERLY by land now or formerly of Abbot Allen et al, ninety feet; and


NORTHEASTERLY by land now or formerly of John Forward, one hundred feet.


Said parcel is shown as Lots 41, 42 and 43 on plan hereinafter nientioned. To see if the Town will make an appropriation, to be expended under the direction of the High School Additions and Reconstruction Committee, for the purpose of completing the Main- tenance Department quarters in the new addition to the Arlington High School; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating thereto.

To see if the Town will appoint a committee of seven, composed of the Town Manager, two members of the School Committee, two members of the School Survey Committee, and two registered voters of the Town, to procure complete working plans and specifications and to obtain bids for the construction of an ele- mentary school building on land owned by the Town, located on Pheasant Avenue; said plans and specifications to be completed and bids to be obtained prior to the Annual Town Meeting of 1960; ap- propriate the sum of $25,000.00 for the use of said committee; determine in what manner the money shall be raised; or take any action relating to any or all of the foregoing.
