The following is the report of the Selectmen allu- ded to in the foregoing record.


We the Selectmen of the town of Boxford having complied with the requirements of the law in relation to notifying the owners of land over which Oct 12. 1881 we were petitioned to lay out a tour way, have laid out such town way as follows: Beginning at a monument on the southerly side of the road leading by the house of John Hale in said Boxford at the land of Mrs Lucinda Lowe, then through said Lowe's land southeasterly seventy three and one half rods to the roads near the freight Depot: the said town way to be three words in width from the westerly line of said railroad- and we have agreed to award the owner of the land over which. said town way passes for her damages is as follows, One and three eighths acres of land Sixty Dollars 60.) To seventy three and one half rods of fence Seventy five dollars.


And your Selectmen hereby respectfully report said town way to the town for its acceptance Dated at Boxford this third day of October in the year 1881

November Meeting


At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Boxford qualified as by the constitution required to vote in elections, held in the Vestry in the second Parish in said town on Tuesday the eighth day of November in the year one thousand eight hundred- and eighty one for the purpose of giving in their votes for a & overnow and Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth, a Councilor for the Fifth District Secretary of the Commonwealth- Treasurer and Receiver General - Anditon of the Commonwealth - Attorney General-and for Senator Fifth Essex District, for County Commissioner, for a Representative fifteenth Essex District in General Court- a block of the Courts Also on article of amendment of the Constitu- tion yes, or No.

No person having served in the army or man of the United States in time of war and having been honorably discharged from such service if otherwise qualified to vote, shall be disqualified therefor on account of being a pauper, or if a pauper because of the non- payment of a Poll tax, all on one ballot. The polis were opened at eighteen minutes past ten oclock A. M. and closed at eighteen minutes past two P. M.
