We whose names are hereunto subscribed have divided as followeth being propritors and purchasers of the sixth division in the great swamp laying on the west side of the highway. beginning on the north side of said lot.
To Theophelus Fisk the first lot in the original right of John Perkins about three poles and six foot wide at the highway and at the great meadow about three poles and 1/2.
The 2nd lot is to Benjamin Fisk in the right of William Rogers.
The 3rd lot is to John Gott Jun' in the right of Thomas Patch Senr originally.
And the 4th lot is to Joseph Herrick originally Charles Gott Junr and the 5th lot is to Tobias Trow in his own right. The 6th lot is to Thomas Tarbox in the right of Stephen Patch originally.
The 7th lot is to David Batchelder in the right of Richard Dodge originally. Voted. on the affirmative but is left to the committee to order when and how and when as in the former vote as may appear and voted and entered in folio 70th not to hinder Committees power to perform said work and buisness.

March 4th 1717/18
At a meeting of the Selectmen William Rogers was sworn to the office of Town Clerk. Lieut. John Porter was sworn to the office of town treasuer. John Kemball and Hutton Goldsmith was sworn to the office Constables and at the same time Joseph Dodge Sargent John Batchelder, Daniel Claflin, Walter Fairfield, Benjamin Fisk, Phineas Dodge, Mr. Daniel Dodge, John Friend, Ebenezer Batchelder Nathaniel Gott, Benjamin Edwards, Thomas Tarbox, Sam- uel Porter and William Dodge all appeared on the day above said and took the respective oaths to the respective offices whereunto they were chosen as above.
At a meeting of the Selectmen of Wenham March 10th 1717/18 the Selectmen appeared and took the oath of Assessors.
At the meeting of the Selectmen then agreed with Wil- liam Rogers to keep school for the year ensueing from the date above said, Allso at the same time agreed with William Rogers to ring the bell and keep the meeting house and he to have three pounds for the same. for his pains.
At the same time agreed with Nathaniel Gott to build a new pound and bring in the cost to the selectmen and the Selectmen Ordered William Rogers to procure a bell rope.
We whose names are hereunto subscribed being now the propritors of the ninth division on the east side of the highway in the great swamp have divided it as followeth. the first lot is to John Herrick bounding upon the eighth division beginning at a maple tree marked eight and so by said division untill it cometh to Joseph Dodges meadow then as the meadow goith to a maple marked standing at the west corner of said meadow then turning westwardly as the fence now standeth to a maple marked Standing in the fence then turning a little more westwardly to a stake Which is (here the record ends)
Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Dodge of Wenham in the County of Essex in the province of Massa- chusetts bay in New England husbandman do grant liberty to the town of Wenham to set up a pound on the land of mine at the end of my orchard next to Capt Fisks land and do for myself my heirs Executors administrators acquit claim unto the said land on which the pound now stands

April 23rd 1718 then the Selectmen met and agreed and gave order to Constable John Kemball that he should pro- cure weights and measures for the towns use to be at the towns charge.
May the 6th day 1718. At a legal Town meeting to choose a representative William Rogers chosen Representative for the year ensuing.
Capt. Thomas Fisk Chosen Moderator for the meeting. Voted to Cover the platform of our meeting house with lead. Voted to choose a committee to consider what shall be thought best to make the platform of our meeting house tiped with lead or otherwise.
Ensign John Gott William Dodge and Deacon John Friend Are Chosen to be a committee for said work. Voted. to choose Capt. Thomas Fisk Ensign John Gott Mr. Ephraim Kemball Benjamin Edwards and William Dodge to be a committee to place some persons in our meeting house as may be thought needfull.
At a meeting of the Selectmen May 6th 1718 then Mr. Joseph Dodge is appointed to be the keeper of the pound untill another be appointed in his room.

Then desired and empowered and appointed Benjamin Edwards Thomas Kemball Sen. & Thomas Kemball Junr and John Moulton or any two of them are to purambelate and renew the bounds between our town of Wenham and the town of Beverly with such gentlemen as the Selectmen of said Beverly shall appoint for the same and to meet at the house of Mr. John Herrick of Wenham at about 10 of the clock on the 23rd day of said May in the forenoon on said day as is mentioned in their notification to them sent.

Then appointed and empowered and desired Ensign John Gott William Rogers Benjamin Fisk John Gott Jun. or any two of them to settle purambulate and renew the bounds between the town of Wenham and Topsfield with such gentlemen as said Topsfield Selectmen shall appoint for the same on the 23rd of said May at about ten of the clock on said day in the forenoon to meet at the white oak tree, a bounds between Wenham and Salem and Topsfield or at the Causway near the clay pitts as is mentioned in the notification to them sent.

These serve to notify you that the Selectmen of Salem pursuant to the law of this province have appointed the persons hereafter named or any two of them with such as you shall appoint to purambulate and renew the bounds between the towns of Salem and Wenham and are to meet at the house of Mr. Samuel Porter on Monday the twenty Eighth of April Instant at eight of the Clock in the morn- ing for that endl. May 23rd 1718 We whose names are underwritten being appointed and empowered to purambulate and renew bounds between Wenham and Topsfield by our respective towns. We have met and purambulated the bounds and renewed the bounds at the Maple, and so as the brook runs by an old Maple Stubb by the way going over into the meadows to a Stake and heap of Stones in the brook then to the corner of Pidgions meadows So to the river according to the Settlement of our town 1694 then from the said Maple towards the Causway to the tree mentioned in the agreement between our towns 1682 which bounds we do agree unto.

At a meeting of the Selectmen of Wenham December - 1718. Two distinct lists were made and committed unto the Constables of Wenham with warrants annex'd unto said lists Viz.
To Constable John Kimball a list to be paid unto our town treasuer £51 10s 2d by the last of January or the first day of Febuary after the date hereoff and the several pro- portions of wood that are set down against each persons name.
And a list is committed unto Hutton Goldsmith which he is to pay in unto our town treasuer by the time perfixed abovesaid amounting to the sum of £39 1$ 2ª and each per- sons proportion of wood that is set down against his name which sums of wood and all the above said wood is to be paid in unto Mr. Joseph Gerrish at or before the last day March next coming as per the date hereoff as is more at large expressed
And an order was sent to our town treasurer to call for the respective sums above mentioned and to make payment therof as he shall receive orders from the Selectmen.

W. and T. with a heap of stones about it and so to a stake and heap of stones and so to an old dry black Oak tree with a heap of stones about it from thence to a white Oak tree marked with S and W which being the Southerly bounds of John Leaches farm and so to Salem & Wenham and Beverly corner bounds marked with S. W. and B with a heap of stones about it.

February 27th 1718 and 19 upon complaint made to the Selectmen of Wenham by several of the inhabitants of said town against Robert Symonds of said town that he doeth live as a common tipler misspending his time and Estate at the tavern greatly to the damage of his family, These are therefore to give notice to the tavern Keeper that he do not entertain him in his house or in his dependence to sit tipling or misspending his time upon the pennalty of the law in such cases made and provided by Order of the Selectmen.
