REPORT OF


WALPOLE CEMETERY COMMITTEE


For the Year Ending March 1, 1913


The usual care has been taken during the last year, of the Village cemetery, and of the ecmeteries on Carpenter's hill and in Drewsville. George H. Holden has had charge of the Village cemetery, E. C. Belden has eared for the Drewsville eemetery, and Clitnon W. Tenney has had charge of the cem- etery on Carpenter's hill. Lots cared for by the ineome funds and legaeies have been kept mowed with a lawn mower and en- riched in the fall.


During the year the town has received the following funds :- $50.00 from Martha A. Dart for the eare of the Joseph and Joseph S. Jones lot, to be known as the Martha A. Dart Fund; $100.00 from Mary Jane Barnett Fay for the care of the Holland D. Fay lot, to be known as the Mary Jane Barnett Fay Fund; and $100.00 from Mrs. Catherine B. Holmes for the care of the Ira Holmes lot, to be known as the Ira Holmes fund.


Eight lots have been given out during the year to heads of families applying for them.


For the eare of the Towns and Ralph Watkins lots, the sum of $4.50 has been expended from the Hannah W. Towns fund. The income of this fund was $16.52 and the amount of the fund is now $425.09.

Your schools opened last September with fifteen of the twenty one teachers of last year on your payroll, and with the same supervisors of music and drawing. At least four of the six teachers who did not re- turn left us for more remunerative positions. As this is as large a part of your teaching force as you can expect to retain from year to year with the present salary schedule, it is to be regretted that Walpole is not
