Voted that the Rev'd Eleazer Wheelock D. D. President of said College be and he hereby is appointed our ajent to petition in behalf of this Town to his Excellency the Governor the Honble his Majestys Council and the Honble House of repre- sentatives of this province that the part of this Town above described may be taken of in conjunction with the part of Leb- anon before Mentioned be erected into a distinct Town as aforesaid and to do any other thing necefsary and proper to be done on our part in order that the same may be effected-

3ª We the Subscribers Selectmen of the Town of Hanover and a Committee appointed to Join with them in Laying out highways in said Town have by direction of said Town pro- ceeded to view and establish the highway from the Meeting House in said Town to the Dwelling House of Benjamin Hatch. have viewed the several places propofed for a highway and exam- ined the antient survey of said road as laid out by Delr Wood- ard Jona Freeman and John Wright (a Committee appointed for that purpose) Nov' 7th 1769 as may appear by the record of the propriety of the Town of Hanover-and it does to us appear that the highway laid out by the abovesaid Committee is on the most suitable and convenient Land for said purpose. that by D" Ordways proposal to said Committee he had a due compensation for said road by an allowance an allowance in the two mile road, opposite to said Highway and we do there- fore recomend to said Town to Establish and open the road agreeable to the above said Survey we further advise as there is no Deed of Conveyance given to Deacon Ordway of the abovesd allowance that a Committee be appointed, to make a Deed of the same if the said D" Ordway shall require it.

Att a Meeting of the Inhabitants of the Town of Hanover [ ] of March 1777 Voted and chose Capt David Wood- ward Moderator for sa[me?] The Report of David Eaton Thomas Page Joseph Curtifs who were appointed Auditors march 1776 was laid before this Meeting and [ ] and they were further requested and impowered to proceed to a [ ] settlement of those accounts and to settle all accounts with the [ ] Men of those years for their services for the Town and any other accounts which became Due in those years to individuals which [ ] remain unfettled.
