Acknowledgment: Josiah B. Hicks, descendant of Conrad, accumulated data of this branch which in 1957 was in the possession of Grace Hicks, wife of Ward Cousins, Lincoln, Nebr. Mrs. Mabel V. Baer secured photostatic copies of these records, as well as copies of old newspapers and letters. Some of the old letters were written by Conrad's son, Jacob Calvin Hicks of Altoona, Pa., in 1905, to Charles Hicks of Nebraska. They contained the birth dates of the twelve children of Conrad and Anna, and the names of

the two ministers, Heifleigh and Smith, who offici- ated at the funeral of Conrad Hicks.
Note : Anna Moyer (Meyer) was the dau. of Jacob Meyer b. ca. 1763, d. Dec. 12, 1820, Lebanon Co., and his 2nd w. Anna Burkholder, widow, who d. ca. 1809. Jacob was the son of Rudolph Meyer, 1724-1783, and w. Anna Light, 1728-1792, dau. of John Light (Kauffman Cem., Lebanon Co.). Rudolph was the son of Rudolph Meyer and w. Barbara. Will probated Feb. 9, 1767, Berks Co. C. H. Jacob Meyer, Jr., 1783-1827, who m. in 1804 to Barbara Yorty, dau. of Henry, was a half- brother of Anna Meyer Hicks.

Bare and Robert Bruce Bare, Central Printing and Pub. House, 1910). A brother of Henry was George F. Baer who was president of the Board of Trustees of Franklin and Marshall College. "Calvin has been farming ever since we've been here. Milton expects to go to school by next Monday." "Wish you would look after my affairs with Stutzman." "I am sure that $350 should soon be paid from Greensburg which should satisfy the Burkholder estate." This referred to his grandfather, Burkeholder's estate. The letter also states that he (Conrad) has a store in Ogle and business is good.
