Philip Adam donated the original twelve acres of land to the Clauser Church or Frieden's Lutheran and Reformed near Llewellyn. It was built of brick in 1819. Claude Unger translated the early baptismal records deposited at Franklin and Marshall College. Maria Clauser, mother of Philip Adam, was sponsor for the first, and George Clauser and wife, Cath- arine, were sponsors for the other two.
