SPAVIN AND RING BONE REMEDY.
Turpentine, $4 pint; wood alcohol, % pint; tincture of iodine, % pint; camphor gum, 6 ounces; crude petroleum, 112 ounces; oil of thyme, 1/2 ounce. Cut the camphor into small pieces and dissolve It In the alcohol and turpen- tine mixed. Then mix in the other ingredients and shake thoroughly. Before applying, wash the parts well with strong soapsuds, taking care to wash off any discharge. For ring-bone cut off the hair and rub the remedy In for 15 min- utes every other day; for spavin rub for the same time every day.
HALTER BURN.
First take some pure creolin and paint the sur- face of the injured flesh and then use a mixture of sulphur and lard (one ounce of hog's lard to which you may add an ounce of sulphur), and apply this ointment once daily. This will give you about as good results as you can possi- bly get. However, in some cases of halter burn it is nearly impossible to get perfect results.
FOR SPRAINS.
Put a leaf or some leaves of tobacco in a vessel with some apple vinegar; heat and apply as hot as can be borne. Bandage and it will give in- stant relief.
