GODSEY CEMETERY - Indian Springs #9
By PHYLLIS L. PETERSON, & GINNY M. SILVERMAN Visited May 8 1987
It is located north of Road 719, just east of the Road 696 intersection. It is back behind the home of HAZEL HARKLEROAD McMURRAY, and up the hill from the HARKLEROAD CEMETERY #10. It was overgrown to much to be able to get into it. We Interview HAZEL HARKLEROAD McMURRAY. She said there were some in there, but it was grown up. It is an old one. She didn't know the ones buried there, "It was before my time." She was celebrating their 70 wedding anniversary. So there must be some old graves there. It is know to be the GODSEY CEMETERY.

Located on the Road 618. It is just east of the Old Cox Plantation house near the intersection 617. It is in a cow pasture on a small hill. There are two trees that stand out together by themselves. There was one stone in between the two trees. There was a fence rapped around the trees, surrounding the grave.

COX CEMETERY - Blountville #9
By PHYLLIS L. PETERSON, & GINNY M. SILVERMAN Visited May 8 1987
Located just south of the intersection of Road 756 and Road 617, back behind the home of JAMES & LOIS LAMBERT. We interviewed JAMES LAMBERT. This land use to be the old COX PLANTATION. Hundreds of acres were in the family for over 150 years. His wife (LOIS TAYLOR LAMBERT)'s grandparents were the COX family that owned the land. The old plantation home, still in use, is down below the hill, at the corner of Roads 618 and 617.
The cemetery is in an open field, with a barbed wire fence around it, open at one end.

COX SLAVE CEMETERY - Blountville #10
By PHYLLIS L. PETERSON & GINNY M. SILVERMAN
Visited May 8 1987 Interviewed JAMES LAMBERT
The COX PLANTATION owned slaves. Their living quarters were just west of the intersection of Roads 756 and 617. They had their own cemetery behind their living quarters. There now is a barn built (the second one back) over the slave cemetery. There isn't any way of knowing the names of the slaves except to find them in the court records of ownership. No stones or records of these slaves are there. This plantation was in the COX family for over 150 years.
