Yule was a California resi- dent 63 years and before retire- ment was a carpentar for the Trona Unified School District.
He is survived by a stepson, James Tattersal of Pregon; a brother, Wilson Yule of Canada; four sisters, Jessie Yule, Mar- garet Stevenson, Alexenia Haz- lewood and Marjorie Enwright, all of Canada; and two grand- children.

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Woods Dead at 45
Kern Valley residents were saddened this week by the death of well known resident, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Woods, 45, wife of Jim Woods, assistant project manager for the U. S. Corps of Engineers at Isabella Lake. She died Dec. 17 at Kern Valley Hospital after a long illness.
Rosary services were held Sunday (Dec. 20) at Valley Mortuary. Lake Isabella, with Father James Murphy officiat- ing. Requiem Mass was held Monday at St. Jude's Church, Wofford Heights.
Mrs. Woods had resided at Lake Isabella the past seven years. She was born July 19, 1925, in Pittsburgh, Pa., of Czechloslavkian parents and was one of nine children. She receiv- ed her education in Pittsburgh schools.
In 1943 she met Jim Woods in Pittsburgh while he was serving in the U. S. Air Force, and in 1948 they were married in Car- son City, Nev. In 1963 they mov- ed to Lake Isabella for her hus- band's appointment at Isabella Dam.
Mrs. Woods was active in church activities and commun- ity and school affairs. She serv- ed as school room mother sev- eral years and was an active worker in the Kern Valley Bronc Booster Club.
She is survived by her hus- band, Jim, a son, Jim; two daughters, Darlene and Debbie; four sisters, Sue Bokor, Mary Rutney and Frances DeBor of Pennsylvania and Peggy Fletch- er of West Virginia; and one brother, George Milan of Mary- land; and several nephews and nieces.
Interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Bakersfield, following the Mass services Monday (Dec. 2).)
Pallbearers were Vern Blount, George Schiber, Roy Siebert. Joe Swartz, John Williams and Jim Young.

Services for Don Turnage Here Today
Graveside services will be held at 12 noon today (Dec. 24) at the Kern River Valley Dis- trict Cemetery for Donald J. E. Turnage, 40, of Whittier. He was murdered early Sunday morning at the front door of his home by hoodlums in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Turnage of the Lar- sen Tract, pictured in the SUN Dec. 10 on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.
Donald Turnage was an X-Ray technician and film reader for Haveg Industries, Santa Fe Springs, for the past 15 years.
His wife, Dorothy and their three children, Ronald, 19, Lor- enda, 16, and Larry, 12, plan to move to Onyx at the earliest possible date.
Services were also held yes- terday at the Chapel of Memor- ies, Whittier.
Rev. Bryan Wilber of the Wel- don and High Chapel Methodist Churches will officiate at the noon graveside services here to- day.
Turnage also is survived by four brothers, Elija, Jr., Huey and Herschel, all of Whittier. and Travis of Huntington Beach.
Harold LaFollette, Resident of Onyx, Is Dead at 68
Harold LaFollette, 68, of Cy- press Lane. Onyx, died Monday (Dec. 21) at Kern Valley Hos- pital. He moved to the Kern Valley four years ago.
Services will be held at 1 p.mn. today (Dec. 24) at Oakdale Me- rnorial Park, Glendora. Rev. Dale Brown of the First Baptist Church of Lake Isabella will officiate.
LaFollette was born June 11, 1902, in Iowa.
His survivors include his wife, Blanche; two brothers, Paul of Lakeport and Dale of Loomis. S.D .; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Hanson of Glendora and Vivian LaFollette of San Antonio, Tex .: an uncle, Connie E. Shaw of Las Vegas and nine nieces and nephews.

He was a self-employed auto service mechanic until his re- tirement a year ago. He was a resident of the Kern Valley the past 12 years and was born in Eden, Tex.

Onyx Pioneer, Rose Mace, Is Dead at 71
Mrs. Rose Mace, 71, died Monday (Dec. 21) in a Bakers- field Hospital. She was born in Onyx on April 7, 1889, and lived there all her life. Among her survivors are nine children and 50 grandchildren.
Rosary services were held Tuesday at the Doughty-Cal- houn-O'Meara Chapel in Bakers- field.

Services for Roy Jumper, 82, Kernville
Roy F. Jumper, 82, of 383 Bur- lando Rd., Kernville, died Dec. 29 in a Bakersfield hospital.
Services were held Dec. 31 at Hillcrest Mortuary, Bakersfield. Dr. Glenn D. Puder, of the First Presbyterian Church, Bak- ersfield, and the Wasco Masonic Lodge officiated. Interment was at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Jumper worked as a construc- tion engineer and road superin- tendent of Road District 1 in northern Kern County for 30 years before retiring in 1930.
He was a member of the Wasco Masonic Lodge, a past noble grand of the Kernville IOOF, a member of the Kern- ville Rebekah Lodge and he served as a director on the Kern County Fish & Game Protective Assoc. for 20 years.
He was born in Riverside and lived in Kern County since 1906.
Survivors include his wife, Delena: two sons, Everett Jump- er of Monterey Park and Charl- es Kicvies of Anaheim; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Gustin of Santa Ana and Mrs. Henry Roth of Bakersfield, 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Last Rites Held for Ear! William Hoke, Kernville
Services for Earl William Hoke, 84, a long-time Kernville resident, were held Tuesday (Jan. 5) at the Oddfellow Tem- ple, Kernville. He died Jan. 1 in Redding.
Members of IOOF Lodge 251 officiated at the services and at his interment in Kern Valley District Cemetery.
Hoke was a U. S. Army vet- eran of World War I and for 11 years was a Kern County Fire Dept. dispatcher in the Kern Valley. He was born in Little Fails, N.Y., on Oct. 15, 1886.
He is survived by three broth- ers, Harold, Otis and Ralph, all of New York: a niece and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 220 18th St., Bakersfield.

Kiewert was born in Chicago on Nov. 19, 1904. He lived in Kern County one year and his last occupation was as a secur- itv guard.

Keith was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Structural Iron Workers Union, Local 433, Los Angeles.

One of the Kern Valley's best known ranchers and pioneers - Stanley L. Smith, 76, of Onyx - died Saturday (Feb. 20) at Kern Valley Hospital.
Services were held Tuesday at Hillcres: Memorial Chapel with interment following a: Hillcrest Memorial Park. Bakersfield. Rev. Bryan Wither of the Weldon Community Methodist Church officiated.
Smith was born in Onvx and resided there all his life. He was a member of the Weldon Methodist Church and the Vet- crans of Foreign Wars.

George C. Black, 62, of Wofford Heights, Passes
George Calvin Black, 62, of Pinewood Dr., Wofford Heights, died at Physicians' Hospital, Oildale, Sunday (Mar. 7.) Until retirement he was a Gulf ser- vice station manager for 35 vears. He lived in the county 58 years.
His death was the result of an accident in which his car crashed into a- tree stump on a dirt road in Wofford Heights. Services were held Wednes- day at Greenlawn Memorial Chapel, Bakersfield. Rev. Ross McGuire of the College Heights Congregational Church, Bakers- field, officiated.
Black was a member of Bak- ersfield Lodge 224 of the Free & Accepted Masons and a member of Al Malakah Temple.

He was a retired carpenter who moved here last year fromn Trena. He was born in Colorado. Services were held yesterday (Mar 10) in Trona at the VFW Hall with VFW members offic. iating. Interment was x the Trona Cemetery.
He is survived by seven broth- Arden and Harvey of Nebraska, Robert, Woodrow, Kenneth; Victor and Emery of Kansas; and two sisters, Beulalı Wilson of Kentucky and Jessie Wilson of Kansas.

Services for Wm. D. Ball, 85, Writer
Veteran writer and editor Wil- liam David Ball, 85, of 40! Pan- orama Dr., Wofford Heights. died Monday (Mar. 8) in Kern Valley Hospital.
Requiem Mass will be at 10 a.m. today (Mar. 11) a: St. Jude's Catholic Church with Father Ralph of Bakersfield officiating. Interment will be held Friday at Mid-Pines.
Rosary services were held Wednesday at Valley Mortuary Chapel, Lake Isabella.
For about 25 years Ball was editor of "Writer's Markets & Methods" for the Palmer Insti- tute of Authorship. He wrote scores of short stories for Col- liers, Saturday Evening Post and other national magazines m addition to carly-day motion picture writing. At one time he worked with Charlie Chaplin and has been listed in "Who's Who" many years.
Ball lived in the Kern Valicy the past 21/2 years, moving here from Maripora.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Martha Stevens of Wofford Honghis; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was born in Caney, Kans .. in 1908.
Mrs. Mason is survived by her husband, Archie: three sons. Lewis of Los Angeles, Albert of Barstow and Ted of Norwalk: a daughter, Imagene Franklin of Torrance: a brother, Robert Jack of Oklahoma City: a sis- ter. Ruby M. Graveside Rites For E. Adamson of Lake Isabella
Graveside services were: held here Tuesday - (Mar. 23.) for Einar Leopold .Adamson, 67, of Commercial St., Lake Isabella. He died Mar. 19 in a Bakersfield Convalescent Hospital.
He was a painter at the China Lake Naval Weapons Center for 20 years before retiring four years ago and moving to the Kern Valley.
