Beverly Robinson Sr., 79, Valley Pioneer, Is Dead
Beverly P. Robinson Sr., 79, of Weklon, died Tuesday (Oct. 12) at the home of his daughter in Bakersfield. He was one of the Kern Valley's most illustri- ous native sons.
For some time Mr. Robinson had suffered with emphysema and only recently had been re- leased from Mercy Hospital, Bakersfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 16) at Hill- crest Chapel, Bakersfield, with interment following at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Rev. Mark Stahnke of the Weldon Metho-
dist Church will officiate. The Bakersfield VFW Post will assist ut the graves.de.
Mr. Robinson was born in uld Kernville in 1893 when his par- ents operated a gold mine near Wofford Heights. In 1902 the family moved to the South Fork and took up ranching.
At 13 he was working for A. Brown & Co. shoeing horses, a craft he carried into the mili- tary service with an artillery unit in World War I at Fort Lewis, Wash. He was grand
marshal of the Whiskey Flat Days parade in Kernville last February.
Mr. Robinson is survived by his wife, Rose: a daughter, Mrs. Ruby McCan of Bakersfield; three sons, Beverly Robinson Jr. of Weldon, George Burke of Bakersfield and Tom Burke of Bodega Bay; a sister, Mrs. Liz- .

Graveside services are sched- uled at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 24) ut Kern River Valley District Cemetery for Josephine Margaret Eiman, 73, of 418 Bur- lando Rd., Kernville. She died Sunday at Kern Valley Hospital following a cerebral stroke.
She was a retired podery fin- isher who lived in Inglewood berore moving to the Kern Val- ley six years ago.
Rev. Willard Vanfossen of the Kernville Methodist Church of- ficiated at the services.
Mrs. Eiman is survived by a daughter, Patricia Akers of North Whittier Heights and two sisters, Lucille Tw ttey of Rich- mond and Marie Culver of Lawndale.
Henry G. Schmitz, 81, of Kernville, Buried in Nebr.
Henry George Schmuz, 81, a resident of Kernville the past 14 years, died Nov. 11 in Hilltop Convalescent Hospital, Baker,. field.
Services and interment were held Nov. 14 in Cliff, Nebr.
Mr. Schmitz moved to Calitor- nia in :953 f:om Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife. Nellie: two sons, Wayne D Schmitz of Broken Bow, Nebr .. and Udell E. Schmutz of Ridge- orest: a dauglue:, Iloe Crunie of Kernville: a brother, John J. Schmitz of Anselmo, Nebr., four grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
He was a member of the Kernville Baptist Church.

Wanda Scribner, 65, Of Bodfish Taken By Heart Attack
Wanda Madge Scribner, 65, of 401 Parkway, Bodfish, died fo - lowing a heart attack at Kem Valley Hospital Friday (Nov. 19)
She was a Kern Valley resi- dent the past six years and formerly lived in Inglewood where she was interred.
She is survived by a son, Wayne Scribner of Inglewoodl. Arrangements locally were by Valley Monmary.

Services Today for F. L. 'Pappy Hall of Isabella
One of Lake Isabella's best known and most colorful long- mime residents died Monday (Dec. 6) of a heart attack at Kern Valley Hospital.
He is Floyd Elias (Pappy) Hall, 74, of Erskine Creek Rd., a retired builder who had lived in the Kern Valley 32 years.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today (Dec. 9) at Valley Mortu- ary Chapel, Lake Isabella. Offi. cers of the Kern Valley Elks Lodge will officiate. Interment is to be at Kern River Valley District Cemetery.
Mr. Hall was a member of the local Elks Lodge and the Eagles în Bakersfield.
He is survived by his wife. Beulah; three daughters, Jolene Lema of Santa Clara, Maxine Smith of La Habra and Georgia

Frank Hughes, 84, Buried Monday in Terryville, Conn.
Frank A. Hughes. 84, of 448 Rio Vista Dr., Kernville. died Dec. 7 at Kern Valley Hospital. Services were held Monday (Dec. 13) at Hillside Cemetery in Terryville. Conn.
Mr Ilughes moved to Kern- ville about six years ago from Long Beach. For many years he was a traveling salesman in the East for the Dobbs and Knox hat companies. He was born in. Massachusetts and resided in Hartford, Conn., before moving to California about 20 years ago.
