Linda lived all of her life in the Kern River Valley attending Woodrow Wallace Grade School and Kern Valley High School where she participated in sports and Future Farmers of America and graduated with honors.
While attending California University at Davis, she
was president of the Ag. Club and leader of a demonstration at the National Convention. She graduated from Davis with honors in 1979. After spending a year in graduates school she decided to come home to manage the Kissack Ranch in Lake Isabella
She leaves to mourn her loss her father and mother William W. and Grace Kissack, a sister and brother- in-law Carolyn and Andy Hancock of Boise, Idaho; a sister-in-law Lynda Kibbe Kissack and 4 nieces and 2 nephews, Kimberly and Kristine Kissack, Heather and Angela Young, Scott Kissack and Craig Young. She also was dearly loved by her aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her only brother, William Lee Kissack, on October 18, 1982.
Linda was loved by all her friends and neighbors and well respected by her co-workers.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday January 24, at the First Baptist Church in Lake Isabella. The service was conducted by Linda Inlow, Minister of the Highland Chapel Methodist Church The soloist was C. Ann Ricker accompanied on the organ by Ann Carey.

Duane C. Pacha
Duane C. Pacha of Bodfish passed away December 26 in Van Nuys. Funeral services were held at Northridge United Methodist Church, Northridge, on December 29.
Interment was in Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth. Officiating was Reverend Linda Inlow of Highland Chapel United Methodist Church, Lake Isabella.
He is survived by hus wife, Winifred of Bodfish; three sons James and David of Northridge, Duane M. of Granada Hills; one daughter Emelia of Denver, and four grandchildren.
Two sisters, Theola Lane, Willcox, Arizona; Rosella Searcey, Barneston, Nebraska and
one brother, John of Hanover, Kansas.
A Memorial Service was held January 15, at Highland Chapel Methodist Church, Lake Isabella.
Arthur C. Martin
Arthur C. Martin died Sat. Jan. 7, 1984, at his home in Spokane, Wa. He Is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Martin, of So. Lake, Lake Isabella, and a sister and two sons in Bakersfield.
Martin served as a Lieutenant during the Korean conflict, after that he received a bachelor of arts degree in English from San Jose State University.
He also created promotional brochures and illustrations for radio station KPBX-FM in Spokane. Mr. Martin was well known for his droll, informative Sat. morning classical music broadcasts on the station.
Besides his work he was involved in many volunteer programns; he volunteered his graphics abilities for several organizations, including the Pacific Northwest Hearing Dogs.
Martin will be greatly missed by his family and friends in his community.

Harold F. Brown
A graveside funeral service was conducted Saturday Jan. 7 at the Kern River Valley Cemetery Wofford Heights for Harold F. Brown of Bella Vista Tract.
Officiating was Rev. Jack W. Jones Pastor of the Mt. View Southern Baptist Church, Lake Isabella.
Mr. Brown passed away Jan. 4 at the Bakersfield Community Hospital in Oildale. He is survived by his wife Lois of Bella Vista, daughters Shirley Carter and Beverly Gillum both of Des Moines, Iowa.
Daughters Lois Pallazo of Bellflower and Jacqueline Anton of Bakersfield, sons Joseph and Richard Brown of Des Moines, Harold William Brown of Bellflower, brother and sisters Arnold Brown, Marie Garrett and Mary Brown all of Des Moines. Twenty three grandchildren and sixteen great- grandchildren.
Born Sept. 2, 1914 in Iowa, Harold Franklin Brown was 69 years of age. Interment at the Kern River Valley Cemetery. Arrangements by Valley Mortuary.
Lillian Maxine Moore
Lillian Maxine Moore, 60, died December 31, 1983 at her home in Woody, Cremation was conducted later with burial at Woody.
Moore was born In Los Angeles on September 19, 1923 and lived the last 20 years of her life in Woody. She served as Woody postmistress for 12 years.
She is survived by her husband, C. B. Moore; mother Elbe Champlin of Bakersfield.
Other survivors inciude sons Michael T'ommaney and Tim Miller of Bakersfield and John Moore of Woody; daughters Dolores Rossback and Kelley Keeling of Wofford Helghts and Tracy Sellman of Weldon; five grandsons and a granddaughter.

IRVIN LAMB, JR.
A memorial service was held Tuesday Jan. 24 at the Valley Mortuary Cahpel, Lake Isabella for Irvin Lamb, Jr. of Weldon. Officiating was Pastor Jack W. Jones of the Mt. View Southern Baptist Church, Lake Isabella. Mr. Lamb passed away suddenly on the morning of Jan. 21. He is survived by his wife Violet of Weldon, daughter Diane Ryan of Ventura, son Bill of Los Angeles, three brothers Al of Gardena, Bill of Hemet, Andrew of Canoga Park, sisters Vivian Boughten of Lake Isabella, Norma Rickey of Pomona, and Vicky Mulledy of Colorado Springs, Colorado and one grandchild. Irvin Lamb was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served during the Korean Conflict. He was a Captain in the Weldon Volunteer Fire Department, and President of the South Fork Mosquito Abatement Board and was active in other civic projects. WILLIAM P. JORDAN
A funeral service was conducted at the Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, for William P. Jordan of Bodfish formerly a resident of Long beach. Mr. Jordan passed away at home in Bodfish Jan. 26. He is preceeded in death by his wife Lilly Gertrude deceased in 1959 and survived by his son E.R. Jack Jordan of Bodfish, son Homer of Malvern, Arkansas, daughter Velma Maggs of Bodfish, Juanit West of Lake Isabella, Modean Bosserman of Bodfish, brother Bryan Jordan of Malvern, Arkansas, eighteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Mr. Jordan was a farmer in Arkansas for many years. He came to California in 1941 and worked in the shipyards there during WWII as a pipefitter. William Pleas Jordan was born October 12, 1889 in Des Arc, Arkansas and was 94 years of age. He had worked full time as a gas station attendant for his son in Long Beach until age 85. DELTHINA ( BROWNIE) PETYAK
Delthina Helen (Brownie) Petyak former long-time resident of the Kern River Valley, died at the age 79 on Jan. 25 1984 after a short illness,
She was born in Cottage Grove, Oregon, on November 4, 1904 and later married. She and her husband George, lived in the Kern River Valley for many years.
Petyak wrote a song entitled "A Picture of the Kern River Valley" which was recorded by the Lancers. She was also a syndicated columnist in the San Diego area for many years.
Services were held Jan. 30, and inturnment is at greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego. Survivors include two sisters, Juanita Bashear, Lancaster and Betty Renner, San Diego; a brother Richard Berry, San Diego, two daughters, Patricia Garcia of Oceanside and Coralee Guy of Chula Vista.
Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Arrangements by Rogers Mortuary San Diego.

Mrs. Knight passed away in Lake Isabella on Feb. 4. She is survived by her husband, Alton E. Fred Cook, 78, Fairview, died February 18 in San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield.
He was born October 1, 1906, and had been employed by Fairview Lodge for the past 20 years. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1940.
Surviving are & daughter, B. Ann Trivett of Bakersfield; grandchildren Kathy Vetter and Mike Trivett, both of Bakersfield; and a greatgrandson Robert Vetter.

Harold J. Cragle, a long-time resident of Kernville, died on February 18, 1984.
He was member of the Oddfellows lodge and of the Fifty- Five Plus Club in the Kern Valley. Cragle is survived by his wife,

Ruby Mae Crossno, 77, died on Feb. 18, 1984 in Porterville after a long Illness.
A memorial service will be held at the Weldon United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 4 at 2 p.m. with pastor Don Roulsten officiating.
She was an active member of the Weldon United Methodist Church for many years while she lived in Onyx and also belonged to the Kern Valley Historical Society and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in
the Woman's South Fork Community Service League.
For the past four years, she had

Graveside services were held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Bakersfield on Monday, Feb. 13, 1984, at 2:30 p.m. for Rhoda Myrtle Hiatt, 82, who passed away Feb. 10, 1984, in a Bakersfield convalescent hospital.

Mrs. Hiatt was born in Hahatonka, Missouri, and had recently moved to Bakersfield after living in Modesto for 30 years She was preceded In
death by her husband, Augustus L. Hiatt who died in 1965.
Survivora include two daughters, Helen Young of Bakersfield and June Blagi of Millbrae; two brothers, Rev. John J. Stover and Rev. Claude Stover, both of Missouri; sister, Rachel Britton of Missouri; eight grandchildren and aeven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. March 8, at the Kern River Valley cemetery, Wofford Heights for Gloria Luther, 56 of Kernville. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Anderson of the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Lake Isabella.
Mra. Luther passed away Feb 12, the victim of a highway accident on State Route 178 near Borel Road. She is preceeded in death by her husband Gene E. Luther deceased in 1982 and is survived by her daughter Kim of Rowland Heights and sons Blake and Kip of Whittler.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to Kern Valley Search & Rescue.

Shelton Waits Herrin passed away Feb. 27 in Modesto. He had been a resident of the Kern River Valley for more than 20 years and was a member of Kern River Valley Masonic Lodge No. 827. A member of the Scottish Rite of Bakersfield and of the Al Maliakah Temple of the Shrine, Los Angeles.
Mr. Herrin Is preceeded in death by his wife M Pearl Herrin deceased In March 1983 and is survived by his daughter Patricia Pope of Glendora. Twelve grandchildren
and nine great- grandchildren.
Born Jan. 29, 1901 in Texas, Shelton W. Herrin was 83 years of age. Cremation arrangements by Valley Mortuary of Lake Isabella ._
James Berry
Memorial services were held recently at Hillcrest Cemetery for James L. Berry, 82, of Bodfish.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in the valley and a long-time employee of Shell Oil Co.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dickey Berry of Bodfish; one son W R. Berry of Bakersfield: 2 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.

OBITUARY
Luther W. Von Deylen
Luther W. Von Deylen passed away March 12 at his residence in Weldon. He was born in Henry County, Ohio, July 24, 1911. Mr. Von Deylen served all through WWII under General Patton and through the Korean war.
He served as a counselor at Los Pinoa Rehabilitation Camp in Orange County for six years. He and his wife, Edith, made their home in Hemet before moving to Weldon.
Survivors include wife, "Dita" Von Deylen of Weldon, nephew
Charles A. Malcolm
A funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., March 17 at the Valley Mortuary Chapel, Lake Isabella, for Charles A. Malcolm of Kernville. Officiating will be officera of KRV Masonic Lodge No. 827 and David Aldridge of the Church of Christ, Orange.
Mr. Malcolm passed away March 10 at his residence in Kernville. He is survived by his wife, Novell Malcolm, of Kernville, son Mark of Ft. Bennning, Georgia, stepson Jerald Maxwell of San Bernardino, daughters Carolyn Choate of San Bernardino, Rebecca Manley of Kernville, Cheryl Stafford of Ft. Greely, Alaska, Rachelle Malcolm sister of Kernville, Verna Buckmaster of Escondido and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Malcolin was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII who fought in the battles of the Marne, Soissons, Argonne Forest and waa wounded and received a purple heart in 1918.
Charles Malcolm was a member of WW I Barracks and a Mason for more than 50 years.
Born May 31, 1898 in Barron, Wisconsin Charles Aubrey Malcolm was 85 years of age. Interment at the Kern River Valley Cemetery, arrangements by Valley Mortuary.
