Memorial services were held at the Oddfellows Temple in Kernville on Monday, May 7 at 11 a.m. with many friends in attendance. She had lived in the valley for 22 years. Nieces from Grass Valley, aunts and uncles from Bakersfield and life- long friends from Scottsdale, Ariz. were also in attendance.
Bunch Blankenship of the
Kernville United Methodist Church presided at the service with music by Helen Rost.
Paggi had worked part-time at Eileen's Ski and Sports, she was a member of the Business and
Professional Woman's Club, 55 Plus Club, Order of Eastern Star Chapter 643, South Fork Woman's Club,
AARP Chapter No. 2729 and served as vice-grand of the Kernville Rebekah Lodge.
Donations may be made in her memory to a fund for a marker at Santa Bargara Savings in Kernville.

Jay Johns of Lake Isabella passed away at his residence on April 30. He is survived by his brother and sister- in-law, Orie and Wynita Johns of Lake Isabella; sisters Gracia Higginbotham of Oakview, CA; Velma Rawson of Ventura, and many nieces and nephews.
Jay Johns was a member of the National Rifle Association and had lived and worked in farming in the Carpenteria area of Santa Barbara County before moving to the Kern River Valley.

Anna M. Kinkade
A funeral mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 12 at St. Jude's Parish Church, Wofford Heights for Anna M. Kinkade of Longviaw Estates, Southlake.
Officlating at the mass and at the rosary on Friday evening was Reverend Monsignor Denis J. Doherty, pastor of St. Jude's. Mrs. Kinkade passed away May 10 at the Kern Valley Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Peter Casas of Southlake; granddaughter Barbara Richardson of Ontario; grandson Alan Casas Los Angeles; great-grandchildren Mark Casas and Michael Gaynor.
Born June 9, 1898 in Philadelphia, pennsylvania, Anna Magdeline Kinkade was 85 years of age. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, South San Gabriel, California. Arrangements by Valley Mortuary, Lake Isabella.

Walter Alvin Hart
Memorial services were conducted at Valley Mortuary Chapel, Lake Isabella, for Walter Alvin Hart of Lake Isabella on Saturday, May 18. Officiating was Reverend Ann Grandy of the Universal Church of the Master, San Jose and officer of KRV Moose Lodge 498.
Mr. Hart passed away at his residence on May 15. He is survived by his wife Lorraine of Lake Isabella; sons Terryl of Tehachapi, Robert of Lake Isabella; daughter Deborah of Tennessee, and four grandchildren.
Walter Hart was a member of the Moose, the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. During World War II Walter Hart served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Terry where he received six battle stars.

Earl R. "Andy" Anderson
A memorial service was held Friday, May 25 at Valley Mortuary Chapel for Earl Raymond "Andy" Anderson. Officiating was Fred Dodds, assisted by Jesse Wright, representing Disabled American Veterans Chapter 54 and the Kern River Valley Veterans Council. Mr. Anderson passed away May 22 at Kern Valley Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Ida of Lake Isabella, and one daughter. Andy Anderson was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army who served In Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland.

Greenig was a resident of the Kern River Valley for twelve years, and a member of Women of the Moose Chapters 1297. 92 and 506.

Claude Newcomb Smith Funeral services were beld on June 7, 1984 for Claude Newcomb Smith, 76, who died May 24 in a Los Angeles area hospital.
He had worked as a machinist for Lockheed for many years and bad lived in Onyx for the past 10 years.
Survivors include a sister Gladys MeGran, Southbury, Conn., and two brothers, Stanley and Gordon.
He was interred at Valhalla Cemetery in North Hollywood. Moose Lodge No. 498 participated in the funeral service.

Robert H. Carter
A graveside funeral service was held Tuesday, June 12, 1984, at 2 p.m. at Los Osos Valley Mamorial Park in Los Osos for Mr. Robert H. Carter, 83. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Glenn Peters of the Community Presbyterian Church In Nipomo.
Carter was born in Flagpond, Tennessee on December 22, 1900, and was a veteran of World War Ona serving in the United States Navy. He was the former owner of the Carter Fencing Company in Van Nuys.
He had resided in Onyx for twenty yeara prior to moving to Oceano last year. Carter was a former member of the Kern Valley Elks Lodge.
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Maribah Carter, last April 13. Carter passed away Friday, June 8, 1984 in an Arroyo Grande hospital.
He is survived by three daughters, Bettyanın P. Roberts of San Diego, Arlene Newcomb of San Diego, Roberta H. Orueta of Arroyo Grande; five brothers, Dallas Carter of Arroyo Grande, Solomon Carter of Lake Tahoe, Ned Carter of Greenville, Tennessee, Brian Carter of Flagpond, Tennessee, Eugene Carter of Rogue River, Oregon; two sisters, Rena Ferguson of Ashville, North Carolina, Dixie Bowers of Crooksville, Ohio; nine grandchildren and ten greal- grandchildren.

Talbert Bumgarner, 69, of Lancaster were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 1984, at the Murphy Mortuary Chapel in Lancaster with the Rev. C. Alton Thomas of the First Southern Baptist Church of Kernville
officiating.
He was a member and a deacon of the First Southern Baptist Church for many years.
Bumgarner was born November 19, 1914, in Glenrose, Texas. He died in the Sepulveda V.A. Hospital on June 16, 1984.
He worked as an electric lineman for the United States government and had lived in California since 1945, moving to the Antelope Valley in 1970 from China Lake.
He also lived In Weldon before moving again to Lancaster. He served in the U.S. Army 391 Combat Engineers.
Survivors are his wife, Neva P. Bumgarner of Lancaster; a son, David Bumgarner of Azusa; two brothers, Jerry Bumgarner of Texas and Roscoe Bumgarner of Oakland; two sisters, Hope Massey of San Diego and Alice Wilson of Arkansas and six grandchildren. A son, Jay, preceded him in death.

OBITUARY
Eddie Metz
Funeral services was conducted Monday, July 9 at the Oddfellows Temple, Tobias Street, Kernville, for Eddie Metz of Wofford Heights. Officiating were officers of Oddfellowa Lodge No. 251, L.O.O.F. Mr. Metz passed away July 5 at Greater Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Estella of Wofford Heights; three sons, Rerford of Marina Del Rey, Ron of Simi Valley, Raymond of Sherman Oaks; sister Almarine Houghton of Long Beach; stepdaughters Betty J. Lewis of Ridgecrest and Bernice Wermuth of Wofford Heights; atepson Clyde Robinson of Weldon, and many grandchildren.
Eddie Metz was a resident of the Kern River Valley since 1945 and was very civic-minded. He was a member of the Wofford Heights Improvement Group, the
Oddfellowa, the Rebekahs and the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Born May 9, 1908 in Des Moines, Iowa, Lin Edson "Eddie" Metz was 76 years of age. Interment at Kern River Valley Cemetery. Arrangements by Valley Mortuary, Lake Isabella.
Lila Mae Adamson
Lila Mae Adamson of Lake Isabella passed away July 4 at Kern Valley Hospital, Mt. Mesa. She is survived by her son and daughter-in- law, Louis and Cynthia Granieri and grandson Mark W. Granieri, all of North Hollywood.
