Mrs. Hultquist passed away at Colonial Convalescent Hospital in Bakersfield after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Hultquist of South Lake; four sisters, Hellen Wooverton of Yucaipa; Myrtle Corder of City of Commerce; Etta Young of Covina; Clorene Singleton of Water Valley. Gladys Hultquist was 78.
She and Robert Hultquist have been residents of South Lake for the past ten years and weekend residents for five years prior to being permanent residents.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church for Viola Julien, 66, who passed away Oct. 29 in a Bakersfield hospital.
Pastor Alvin Pinke officiated.
Viola was born Nov. 17, 1919 in Lake Park, Minnesota. She had been a seamstress at Harris & Frank for over 25 years talloring mens clothing. She attended Our Saviors Luthern Church for over 20 years where she was a member of the Ladies Circle.
She was a family oriented person. Survivors include three daughters Linda Kelly, Shella Hogan and Judy Colley and one son Richard Anderson of Bakersfield; brothers, Vernon and Stanley Dokken; five sisters, Vivian Schultz, Adelaide Marshal, Hildred Johnson, Lolly Peske and Delores DeVine ali
of the Minneapolis/Minnesota area; 13 grandchildren; 7 great- grandchildren; 13 neices and nephews and a host of friends.

A funeral service was conducted Friday, Nov. 7 at the Valley Mortuary Chapel in Lake Isabella for Paul Matlock of Lake Isabella. Officiating were officers of Kern River Valley Moose Lodge. No. 498 LOOM
Mr. Matlock passed away Nov. 4 at the Kaiser Medical Center, Panorama City.
He is survived by his wife Margaret of Lake Isabella; stepson Gregory Standerfer and step daughter in law Suzy Standerfer, both of Salona Beach; two grandchildren Gregory and Angelina of Solana Beach and one niece Marion Matlock of Massachusetts.
Paul Matlock was retired from Ryan Aeronautics and was a member of the Moose and Sidewalk C.B. Club where he was known by the handle Road Runner.
Born July 10, 1911 in Lovington, Moultrie County, Illinois, Paul Kenneth Matlock was 75.

Rusty was born Nay 16, 1961 in Glendale, He graduated from Byrd
Junior High, in Sun Valley, then moved to Lake Isabella in 1975. He attended Kern Valley High School, graduating in 1979.
Rusty is survived by his parents, Janice and Steven Torell of Squirrel Valley; three sisters, Cathy Guy, Sylmar; Sherri Torell, No. Hollywood; and Sandi Torell, Squirrel Valley and a host of relatives and many close friends.

ALEXANDER CLARK (Alec) ECCLES
Alec Eccles died Friday, Nov. 21 at Kern Valley Hospital, after a brief illness. He had been a resident of Riverkern and Kernville since 1978.
Born near Lemoore, California In 1903, Mr. Eccles lived and worked in the Fresno area most of his life. He retired from the Fresno Unified School District in 1969.
Preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Cora Tunny Eccles, he is survived by wife La Verne (Verny) Eccles; son and daughter in law, Norman and Pat Eccles, all of Kernville; daughter and son in law Mildred and Ron Howell of Albany, Oregon; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and four stepsons and a sister, Ruth Loeffler of Fresno.
Alec served four and one half years in the U.S. Navy during W. W.II attached to the Marine Battalion known later as the Sea-Bees. He was an honorary life member of the California Congress of Parent and Teachers, awarded to him in 1989 for exceptional service to the children and youth of the Fresno School District.
Born October 27, 1903, Alec was 83. Cremation arrangements by Valley Mortuary. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. at the Kernville United Methodist Church.

A funeral service was conducted Wednesday Nov. 26 at the Valley Mortuary for Iduna Rose Welton of Lake Isabella. Officiating was Bil Reed of the Church of Christ Mt. Mesa.
Mrs. Welton passed away Nov. 23 at the Memorial Hospital of Greater Bakersfield.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Harry of Lake Isabella; son Ward of Lakeview Terrace; brothers Samuel Whitaker and James Whitaker; sister Bonnie P'helps of Kentucky and one granddaughter.
Mrs. Welton had been a resident of the Kern Valley for the past 20 years. Born Aug. 20, 1906 in Kentucky, Euna Rose Welton was 80.

Ile is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carolyn of Weldon, son and daugliter in law, Andrew and Melissa llarvey of Weldon; son Raymond of Weldon; daughter Rosemarie of Weldon; father Raymond Harvey of Wofford Ileights.
Mr. Harvey was a Korean war Veteran who served with the U.S. Navy aboard the Carrier U.S.S. WASP (cfs-18). Ile was a member of the Knights of Columbus and taught CCD classes at St. Jude Church.

William Purcell passed away Dec. 7 at Panorama Hospital in Van Nuys. He was 72 years old.
He Is survived by his wife, Ann Purcell of Lake Isabella; son Richard Purcell of Oregon; daughter Shirley Reynolds of Garden Grove; daughter Linda Mcknight of Anaheim; son Edgar Purcell of Michigan; daughter Cindy Hurley of Torrance; 12 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.

Mr. Purcell was a longshoreman for 42 years before retiring ten years ago and moving to the valley.

Mrs. Kuder was born Oct. 3, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa. She died Dec. 11, 1986 in Modesto, where she was a resident.
She lived in Lake Isabella for many years and worked for Caltrans.
Mrs. Kuder is survived by her father, Andrew Stewart; 3 daughters, Vicki Baldradge, Carolyn Johnson and Diane Price; an adopted son, Stewart Skeem and 2 granddaughters.

DOLORES V. GRAY
Funeral services were held in the Erickson and Brown Funeral Home on December 23 for Dolores Viola Gray, 65 of Lake Isabella. Burial in the West Side District Cemetery followed. Mrs. Gray was born in Powers, Oregon on Feb. 5, 1921 and passed away at Mt. Mesa Hospital on Dec. 17. Mrs. Gray was raised and educated in Taft and moved to Lake Isabella in 1958. While living in Taft, she owned and operated the Carson's Smoke Shop, Carson's Grill and Apt. the Mobile station on 4th Street and the Union 76 station on 4th and Kern Streets.
While in Lake Isabella, she worked at the Diner, the Dam Korner restaurant and the Sportsman Center. Mrs. Gray attended the Church of God in Lake Isabella and was a member of the Women of the Moose at Lake Isabella and the Elks Lodge. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlena J. Foreman, in 1957.
She is survived by daughters Dolores V. Vreezley of Downey and Frances E. Sandoval of Lake Isabella; brothers Jess Hawkins and Walter Hawkins, both of Taft; four sisters Vi Hawkins of Porterville, Cleo Amadisto of Taft, Jean Binkley of Valley Acres and Marionzane Skrypec of Fridley, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Adella E. Lint passed away Dec. 18 at Mercy Hosital In Bakersfield. Mrs. Lint had been a resident of Wofford Heights for ten years.
Born in Lithuania, she came to the United States In 1911. After living in New York and Massachusetts and working in the shoe industry, she came to California in 1948.
She is survived by her son and daughter-In-law Peter and Elly Bruches of Wofford Heights; four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Dec. 19 at Rose Hills in Whittier.
