LAGRANGE, IND.,

Incorporated town of 2000 inhabitants, pleasantly located on the Grand Rapids & Indiana R'y, and is the seat of justice of the county of same name. It is 46 miles northwest of Fort Wayne, and 181 miles northwest of Indianapolis. LaGrange has made great progress in her manufactur- ing interests, and among the most prominent is a heading factory, two saw mills, flour mill, planing mill, butter tub factory, and pump factory, with all the minor industries well represented and doing a prosperous business in their respective departments. It also supports three weekly newspapers, four churches, graded and high school, and two banks. A recent fire destroyed several old structures on the southeast corner of the square that will be built up with handsome business buildings this coming season. This with other contemplated improvements, will make LaGrange one of the most attractive towns of its size in northern Indiana. Principal exports grain, live stock, lumber and produce.
