(This regiment, originally composed of ten companies, was organized at Burlington, Vt., November 19, 1861, for three years. Two addi- tional companies (L and M) were organized at St. Albans and Bur- lington, Vt., September 29 and De- cember 30, 1862. The original mem- bers (except veter's) were mustered out November 18, 1864, by reason of expiration of term of service, and the veterans aud recruits, con- solidated into a battalion of six companies June 22, 1865, and re- tained in service until August 9, 1865, when it was mustered out in accordance with orders. from the War Department.)

(This regiment was organized as the 11th infantry, September 1, 1862, at Brattleboro', Vt., for three years. It was changed to an artillery or- ganization and designated the "1st Heavy Artillery," December 10, 1862. Two additional companies were raised, one July 11, 1863, and the other October 7, 1863. .THIRD REGIMENT. (BATTALION OF.)
(This regiment was organized at St. Johnsbury, Vt., July 16, 1861. The original members were inustered out July 27, 1864, and the remain- ing men, consolidated into a battal- ion of six companies, remained in service until July 11, 1865, when they were discharged in accordance with orders from the War Depart- ment. )
