The original members (non-veterans) were mustered out June 22, 1864, to take effect June 1, 1864, in ac- cordance with an act of the Ver- mont legislature, confirmed by the War Department January 28, 1864, the veterans and recruits re- organized into a veteran regiment, and retained in service until June 28, 1865, when it was mustered out, in accordance with orders from the War Department.)
