ELEVENTH REGIMENT. (BATTALION OF)


(This regiment was organized at Bos- ton, Mass., June 13, 1861, to serve three years. On the expiration of its term of service, the original members, except veterans, were mustered out. The veterans and re- cruits, together with the veterans and recruits of the 16th Massachu- setts volunteers, which were trans- ferred to this regiment July 11, 1864, were consolidated into a battalion of seven companies and retained in service until July 14, 1865, when mustered out in accord- ance with orders from the War De- partment.)
