We find that the system of keeping the accounts of the town in the several departments is not such as is commendable for accuracy or dispatch, which may be ac- counted for in part, as the town is unwilling to pay the Selectmen, Assessors and Overseers a sufficient salary for the services which they are called upon to perform. We find by their bills that are on file, that they have charged one hundred dollars more than the salary voted them, for extra services, but what those extra services were we are unable to ascertain, as they give us no informa- tion by their bills.

Respectfully submitted,

A. D. WAIT, JOSEPH FARLEY, Auditors. GEO. R. LORD,
