To either of the Constables of the Town of Ipswich.


GREETING.


In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby re- quired to notify and warn the legal voters of said town to meet at the Town House on Wednesday, the tenth day of March current, at 9 o'clock, A. M., for the following purposes, viz :


ART. 1. To choose a Moderator.


ART. 2 To choose all necessary Town Officers for the ensuing year, and grant such pay for their services as the town thinks proper.


ART. 3. To hear and act on the reports of Committees.


ART. 4. To raise money for the support of the High and Common Schools and determine the manner of apportioning the same.


ART 5. To raise money to repair the higways and determine the manner of apportioning the same.


ART 6. To raise such sums of money as may be necessary to defray all town charges for the ensuing ycar.


ART. 7. To sce what compensation shall be allowed the enginemen, the ensuing year.


ART. 8. To see what discount, if any, shall be allowed to those persons who pay their taxes before the prescribed time of payment.


ART. 9. To see if the town will authorize the Treasurer to hire money in anticipation of taxes.


ART. 10. To see if the town will authorize the Prudential Committees to contract with the teachers in the several school districts.


ART. 11. To grant such sums of money to be raised upon the polls and estates within the town, for the purpose of defraying the debts of the town, and for the expenses of the current year, as may be decmed necessary, and make all need- ful regulations and allowances respecting the same.


ART. 12. To sec if the town will accept the list of jurors, as prepared and posted up by the Selectmen.


ART. 13. To see what action the town will take in regard to preventing the taking of clams from the flats, from the first day of June to the first day of November.


ART. 14. To see what action the town will take in relation to building reser- voirs for water in case of fire.


ART. 15. To sce if the town will abolish the school district system.


ART. 16. To see if the town will defray the expenses of placing buoys in the river to inark the channel.


ART. 17. To see what action the town will take in relation to widening South Market Street as ordered by the County Commissioners.


ART. 18. To see what action the town will take in relation to widening and rebuilding Mile Lane (so called) as ordered by the County Commissioners, and to raise money for that purpose.


ART. 19. To see what action the town will take in relation to raising the causeway leading to the beach above the tide water and to raise money for that purpose.


ART. 20. To see if the town will purchase the site of Coburn's Block, (60 called. )


ART. 21. To see what action, if any, the town will take, in relation to erect- ing a monument to the deceased soldiers.


And you are hereby directed to serve this warrant hy posting up attested copies of the same at cach of the meeting houses, and at the school house in the North District in said town, three days at least before the time of said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make due return of this warrant to the Town Clerk, at time and place of said meeting.

The number of Paupers at the Almshouse is eighteen ; the average number for the past year was eighteen.


The average cost of supporting them, by the usual method of computation, is sixty-four cents per week.


Expenses and Income for the Year 1869.
