REPAIRS OF ROADS AND BRIDGES.

Of the amount raised for repairs of roads and bridges and breaking roads, the sum of $1,649.60 has been paid to H. D. Pierce, Master of Town Farm, for work of self, men and horses; work of all others, $756.16.

After the roads had been repaired during the spring and early summer, an unusual fall of rain, in a thunder storm, caused bad washouts in a number of places. Many of the roads were rendered impassable, and before these washouts had been fully repaired, a second heavy fall of rain caused as much damage as the first, and left the roads in worse condition than in the spring, before any- thing had been done to them, consequently the road ex- pense was unavoidably increased.
