As Tree Warden I submit the following report.
Number of trees bolted, three. The balance of work done was in trimming trees that I found in different parts of the town that were liable to do damage to covered carriages, as the branches were hanging down and were lower than they should be for safety to passing teams.

GUIDE POSTS AND GUIDE BOARDS.
The following report on guide posts and guide boards is submitted.
During the past year we have placed one new guide board at corner of roads at North Cemetery. Guide board repainted near Pine Ridge Station, and one new guide board at Brookside Corner. We wish to call attention to the heavy penalty for any person who defaces or destroys guide boards.

November 24-Dwelling house and barn of Mary E. Reed, in Graniteville, occupied by John Mosek and family. Value of buildings, $2000; insurance, $1500; total loss. Value of contents, $300, no insurance.
In the spring, a grass fire occurred on the farm of Henry A. Hildreth, from sparks from locomotive on Nashua, Acton & Boston R. R., which destroyed barns and shed and damaged house of Mr. Hildreth. Estimated loss, $600. Damage paid by Boston & Maine R. R.
