That we Palatiah Brown Will m Dodge & Thomas Kimball Jr. overseers of the Poor for the Town of Wenham in the County of Essex & Commonwealth of Massachusetts Hath Put Placed & by these presents Doth Put & Bind out Sally Wyatt one of the Poor & the said Sally Daughter of Jona- than Wyatt Doth here by put Place & bind out her self as an apprentice to John Pierce of Beverly in sd County & Commonwealth afore sd Blacksmith To learn the art trade or mystery Spinster the said Sally after the manner of an apprentice to dwell with and serve the said John Pierce & his wife from the Day of Date off the Sixth Day of Feb- ruary which will be in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Fourteen. During all which time or term the said apprentice her Said master well and faithfully shall serve his secrets keep and his lawful commands every where at all times readily obey; She shall do no damage to her said master nor wilfully suffer any to be done by others; and if any to her knowledge be intended she shall give her master reasonable notice there of. And the Sd Wm Kimball on his part Doeth Here- by promise and agree to teach or instruct the Sd apprentice or cause him to be taught and instructed in the art trade or Calling of a Cordwainer the best way an means he can and also to teach and instruct the Sd apprentice or cause him to be taught and instructed to Read & Write and Crypher as far as the Rule of Three if the said apprentice be capable to Learn and shall well and truly find and provide for the Sd apprentice good and sufficent Meat Drink Clothing Lodg- ing and other Necessaries fit and convenient for such an apprentice During the term afore said and in sickness and in health and at the Expiration there of shall give unto the Sd apprentice two Suits of clothes or wearing apparell one suitable for Lords Day the other for working Days
