April Meeting


the indorsigned Committee of the Town of Wenham ap- pointed by the Town on the 7th instant to take into theer consideration & Report to this Town What in their opinion aught to be the Compensation that should be offered Mr Moses Dow in his capasity of Minister of the Gospel in this Place Now Repart-that having mett this Day & after Due deliberation on the subject of their appointment came to the following Resulations that the annual salary of Mr. Moses Dow in case he should except the invatation to settle among them in the Ministry should be the sum of four hundred Dollars which sum shall not be subject to Deduc- tion from or addition to unless by the Mutual Consent of the Parties and that sd Mr Moses Dow Shall have the sole use of the Parish Pew & Parsonage Lands as long as he con- tinues to be the Minister of ye sd Society & that the Salary shall be paid in half yearly payments viz one half of the sd sum of four hundred Dollars to be paid him in six months from the time of his ordanination & the Remaining half in one year from sd. time of his ordaination & that in every succeeding year payments shall be considered as folling due in the Manner before Mentioned. and your Committee forth- with Reports that if at any time Mr Dow shall express a De- sire to Discontinue his Ministrial Labors in sd Society he shall be att Liberty so to Do after the expiration of six months from the time he shall Notify his Desires to sd Society and if att any time a Majority of the Legal Voters in sd Society shall notify Mr Dow that he shall cease to be their Minister the Connection between Mr Moses Dow & ye sd Society shall be Desolved in one year from the time of each notification shall be given Mr Dow by the sd Majority of

Vot. that there shall be a fine of fifty dollars Laid upon any person that Shall be found Ketching said fish excepting on the above mentioned Day


Vot that if any person be found Ketching said fish on the Sabbath Day he or they shall be fined the above sum and to be received in any Court Proper to fine the same

31y that the Town Do agree to strike the same from the Terms offered Mr Moses Dow accompaning his Call to settle in this town in the Gospel Ministry

Preambulation Between the Towns of Wenham & Beverly. We the Subscribers appointed by the Selectmen of Wenham & Beverly in the County of Essex To Preambulate on the Line and renue the Bounds Between said Towns have ac- cordingly Mett this 13th Day of April 1801. Viz.


Beginning at a white oak stump standing in the wall Be- tween the Land of Cornelius Baker and Nath Porter Marked W-B & D.


Preceeded thence on sd. straight Course South seventy one Degrees and thirty Minits East to a Bound in Nata Porter orchard which is a stone sett in the ground Marked W-B. and thence South Eighty Degrees and thirty minits East to a Bound called Alford Stone Marked W-B in James Kim- balls Land. thence to the corner of the wall on the Eastern Side of the County Road three feet & one half Southerly of an apple tree standing to the Northward of Charles Dodges land formally Free Balches Land Marked W-B thence to a stake and stone in Jacob Dodges Land formally Nath™ Brown said line is about four feet Southerly of a white oak tree Marked W-B. which oak is about Seventy feet Westerly of said stake & stones thence to a Long stone by the wall the south side of the Highway a few Rods Easterly of the Barn belonging to Jacob Edwards one Rod and half northerly of an apple tree in said Edwards land. Marked W-B. thence to a stake & stones Near Larcombs Corner so called.
