Whare as we Pelatiah Brown Josiah Swett and Josiah Her- rick Survairs of fences for the Town of Wenham have bin notified by Capt Mathew Feerfield to devid fence betwen Capt George Crowning shield and Sd Fairfield in Wenham, we a cordingly have mett on the premices for the a bove purpos and have Vewed the fence on the Premices of the homsted of the Sd Crowninshield and Sd Fairfield field which line is 69 Rd and have Devided the fence betwen them (viz) to Sd Fairfield we have a signed 33 rods at the Easterly end of Sd Fence & equal part of his Sd fence to a stake & Stons by the Side of the wall and to Sd. Crown-

We Palitiah Brown & Josiah Swett both of Wenham fence Vuers for the Town being a sked by Capt George Crownin- shield on the 2 1th of Sept. 1779 to vue & devide the fenc On the Nothern side of the Sd Crownen Shid farm between Josiah Herrick & Said CrowninShield and on the 22 Day of Sd month Notified the above Persons to atend on the 23 of Sd month, Proceeded as follows.


(Vis) beginning at Titcomb fenc northerly running Southerly 39 Rods & 4 Links to Crowning Shield fenc be- gining at Titcomb fenc we do lay of to Josiah Herrick 10 R. of the above line and then the Sd Crowningshield is to take twenty rods of Sd line nere the midle the remander of Sd line We lay of to Josiah Herrick. now the East & West line betwen Crowning Shield and Herrick is 36 rods we lay of At the west end of this line 9 rods to Herrick, the Crown- ingshield is to have eeghteen rods of Sd line in the midle the remainder of Sd line we Set off to Herrick then the above Josiah Herrick notified us to devide fenc betwen Crowningshield and himself on the southerd Sid of Sd. Crowningshield farm Eastardly from fairfield to Crowning- shield Eight Acre lot 55 Rods & 12 link. We lay of to Crowning Shield at the Easternd of Sd line 29 rods then the remainedr of Sd line we lay of to Herrick East & West from the eight acre lot to Beverly line 34 Rods We lay of Herrick at the East end of Sd line 17 rods the remainder of Sd line We lay of to Crowningshiled

(Viz) The first article in the Warrant, To see if the Town would Grant the middle part of the Town their porpartion of the Last years Schooling. Past in the Negative. and Secondly Voted not to continue the Gramma School the Insuing year Also Past a vote to support Bartholl Dodge a late Constable for Sd Town in Distreining for Capt George Crowningshield Tax for the year 1777 Then the Moderator Declared the meeting Dissolved. June st 1780 At the Ajourmment of the Meeting Voted to Choose Committee of three men to gett the Bell Run over Messrs Dr Tyler Porter Paletiah Brown & Josiah Sweat to be a Committee to obtain the Same according to their best Judement of the Matter.


Voted to ajourn this meeting to next Monday at one O Clock P. M in order further to Consedr the Constitution At the Same time, Eleven Voted to Receive it with the proposed amendment of the Committee

Voted to Receive the Constitution with the Amendments proposed by the Committee upon thethird article in the Bill of Rights (Viz)


In stead of may be paid it Shall be paid To the Parish or precinct to which the Person belongs. The other amend- ments upon Sd article as proposed by Tyler Porter, Voted To restrain the Liberty of the Press and that no person be allowed to Publish any Defamamortory or Libel against any person without his Signature


Voted To oblige the Person Chosen for Governor To De- clair hinself to be of the Prodestant Religion and a man of Good Character & etc.

Agreed with Abraham Edwards To Keep Esther Boatman of this Town for the space of one year for Seven hundred & ninety Dollars old Currency one half to be paid in Six months from the Date Sd Edwards to find Sd Esther Suffi- cient meat Drink, Washing & Lodging & To make Her Cloathing as good as when apraised to him. The Town to pay the Doctor & Nurse in Case of Seckness & To Bury her in case of Death

Legaly Warned & Regularly Assembled for the Choice of a Representative & other Business as pr Warrant may appear. The Selectmen requested Proxes for a Representative & they Refused to give any. Stephen Dodge being chosen Modera- tor, the 2nd Article was put to vote & Dismissed for the pres- ent the 3ª Article tried Voted To pay the Revnd Joseph Swain his Salary the year Currant in Specie or produce at the first stipulated price Since the Warr Come.


4 th Artic" Voted To Raise fifty pounds by a Tax on polls & Estates to repair the High Ways this year, also To allow 3 P. per Day for mens Labor & 2 P for oxen 1/6 for a horse & 2 P for a cart & etc.


Voted Those persons that are Duely warned and do not work out their Taxes at the highways Shall have it added to their next Town Tax.

At a Meeting of the Selectmen of Wenham June 25th 1781. Then agreed with Abraham Edwards to take & keep Daniel Clinton one of the poor of this Town the Space of one year from the Date hereoff for fourteen Shillings & Six pence per week in Specie or equivalent. Said Edwards to find Sd Clinton Sufficent meat Drink washing & Lodging.


The Town to pay the Doctor & Nurse in Case of Sickness Sd Edwards to make his Cloathing Good as when he re- ceives him. As witness our hands.

John Hancock Esq had 20 Votes for a Governour Mr James Bowdwin Esq had 5 votes. Thomas Cushing Esq had 28 votes for Lt Governour & no Negative, Jonª Greenleaf of Newburyport Stephen Choate of Ipswich Sam11 Phillips of Andover Aaron Ward of Boxford Azor Orne of Marblehead Jonª Gardner of Salem Esq had 20 Votes each for Senators. 2 nd. article passed by
