History and Purpose. - The Emery Museum was estab- lished in 1926, the building and land being purchased by Erie County from the widow of Judge Asher B. Emery. It is controlled by the Erie County Park Commission, consisting of six members, and is directed by Charles Robinson, Superintendent of Emery Park. It collects materials on local history, household utensils, and agri- cultural implements, and memorabilia of Colonel Josiah Emery and family. It does not buy, sell or exchange manuscripts, but will accept gifts and deposits. It is housed in a two-story, wooden, nonfireproof building, crected in 1926, with adequate space for its collections.

History and Purpose. ~ Founded in 1934 as a reposi- tory for Montgomery County archives and for the purpose of gather- ing, copying, and preserving records of historical value. No manuscripts are purchased, sold, or exchanged, but gifts and condi- tional deposits are welcomed. It is housed in the Old Court House, with a three-story, fireproof, brick addition constructed in 1910, affording adequate space for the storage and use of records.
