FLUSHING FREPARATIVE MEETING. (H) Date of establishment not determined (See Preparative Meetings, in New York M.M. list) Keetings for worship were held in 1657, and no doubt irregularly for a few years. After Jchn Bowne's house was built in 1662 meetings seem to have been regularly held there until the meeting house was built.


Joint sessions adopted 10th Mo. 26, 1899. Discontinued 2d Mo. 2, 1908. The meeting house, built 1694, and enlarged 1716, is in the Village of Flushing, Queens Co. Long Island. It was occupied by the British for a period during the Revolution. John Bowne gave the land for burial ground in 1576. Some part of the subscriptions for the building of 1716 were still uncollected 10.7. 1727, when James Clement was appointed "to endeavor to collect the Same. "

OYSTER BAY MEETING. (5) John Taylor, a traveling minister, states that a meeting was settled there in 1659. The earliest marriage recorded there in cur records, is that of Samuel Andrews and Mary Wright, 8th Mo. 30, 1663, "at the Usuall nceting house of Anthonie Wrights in Cysterbay" The meeting house built 1672 was taken down and sold in 1093. A second house was built about 1750, but meetings were not regularly held there.


JERICTO PPEPARATIVE MEETING. (H) Date of establishment not determined (ste Preparative Meetings in New York Y.M. list). At Q.". 10th Mo. 30, 1676 "ffriends of the farmes Meeting is desired by this Quarterly meeting to kecpe and observe their wookly meetings with deligonce and faithfulness as formerly ordered." The "farmes" was the carly name for Jericho. Became a part of Jericho M.V. on its establishment 11th No. 24, 1789. (See that list).


Thomas Mott of Fort Washington, L. I. had some old books of Manhasset P.v. per Y'ariana W. Charman. Wrote him 2d time 10.7.03. No reply.


"CCFNAY MEETING. (H) Allowed by Westbury ".". 1739 at Thomas Hicks' on the first day of every month. No meeting house was built, but meetings were held in private house as late as 1793.


HUNTINGTON VESTING. (H) Allowed by Westbury M. Mo. 1733, but not long maintained, in private houses.


SEC. TOGUE MEETING. (H) Allowed by Westbury ". 1. No . 17 Laid down No. 1762. In 1779 General Birch sent a party to Secatogue, a village about 20 miles east of Hempstead, to pull down a Quaker meeting house. This was done, and the materials were used by Birch personally. (Jones' Hist. of N.Y. during the Revolutionary War.)


HEVDSTEAD MEETING. (H) Allowed by the Q.V. 12th No. 26, 1697/8 to be every five weeks, at the house of Nathaniel Pearson. No meeting house appears to havo beon built but meetings wore held as late as 1793 in private houses. Wantagh Meeting cst. 1827.


JERICHO MONTHLY MEETING. (H) Established 1th "o. 24, 1789, being set off from Westbury W.N. It comprised at first the P.s. of Jericho and Fethrage, and has always been a part of Westbury Q.". Joint sessions adopted 5th "o. 15, ED. Th
