LEPRE, ANGELO, Grant St., Houston-Born September 8, 1891. Was inducted into service September 21, 1917. He was sent to Camp Sherman, attached to Company M, 11th Infantry, 5th Division. Was sent to Camp Forrest and placed with the 332nd Infantry. Private Lepre sailed for France in April, 1918, was wounded and in the hospital for two months. Returned to the United States February 3, 1919, and was honorably dis- charged February 18.


LESSIG, HARRY BERN- ARD-Son of Mr. and Mrs. I. E. Lessig, Leechburg. Born March 6, 1898. Enlisted April 17, 1917, with Company L, 110th Machine Gun Company, 28th Division. Was sent to Camp Hancock and sailed overseas May 3, 1918. Private Lessig was killed July 29, 1918, at the Vesle River.


LEWIS, EVERETTE O .- Son of Issac Lewis, 114 Central Ave. Born September 1, 1900. Enlisted October 16, 1918, in the Marine Corps. He was stationed at Paris Island and was honor- ably discharged from service March 27, 1919.

LIGHTHOLDER, JAMES W .- Son of Mary A. and John Lightholder, 4 Youngstown St. Born November 20, 1891. En- listed October 3, 1914. Was sent to Fort Screven, 4th Coast Artillery Corps. He was made Ist Sergeant.


LITTLE, GORDON VIN- CENT-Son of James D. and Elizabeth Little. Born August 14, 1890. Entered service De- cember 5, 1917. Was sent to Kelly Field, transferred to the 76th Balloon Company, and was stationed at Camp John Wise. He died of pneumonia October 19, 1918.


LOBER, JAMES-Son of Mike Lober, 16 Park Ave. Born in December, 1890. Was inducted into service December 13, 1918. Sent to Camp Sher- man and attached to the 308th Ammunition Train. Sailed overseas No- vember 30, 1918, and was shot in the right side. Private Macalusi returned to the United States February 2, 1919, and was honor- ably discharged on the eighteenth of that month.


MACKEY, JOHN A .- Son of Andrew J. Mackey, 140 E. Col- lege St. Born March 19, 1890. Enlisted December 5, 1917. Was sent to Columbus Barracks, then to Kelly Field. He was honor- ably discharged from the service of the United States February 10, 1919.

He returned to the United States April 19, 1919, and was honor- ably discharged from the service of the United States in May, I919.


MALONE, GEORGE VANCE-Son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert V. Malone, 119 E. College St. Born September 10, 1899. Enlisted October 5, 1917, in the Navy. He trained at the Great Lakes Naval School and Hamp- ton Roads. Was assigned to the New Jersey and many other boats. Malone made a number of trips over between September 5. 1918, and April 8, 1919.

He was sent to Camp Sherman, placed with Company D, 50th Ammunition Train, and was transferred to Fort McAdams. Private Meredith was honorably discharged from service Decem- ber 18, 1918.


MILLER, CLARENCE VAN -Son of G. W. Miller, 157 Pike St. Born in October, 1894. En- listed in May, 1917, with Battery B, 107th Field Artillery. He was sent to Camp Hancock, was slightly shell shocked in the Ar- gonne Forest, returned to the United States in May, 1919, and was honorably discharged from service later that month.


MITCHELL, GEORGE, 22I, Blaine Ave .- Was inducted into service May 27, 1918. He was assigned to Camp Taylor, went to France.

MCARDLE, ROBERT J .- Son of Peter McArdle. Born February 1, 1897. Enlisted Au- gust 4, 1914. He was with the Allied Forces, 293rd Employment Company, and was killed by a bomb May 30, 1918.


MCARDLE, JAMES-Born September 25, 1890. Enlisted January 10, 1914, in the British Army. He was attached to 23rd Signal Battalion, 25th Brigade. Was made Sergeant, given a D. F. C., and was killed by machine gun fire.

McCLAIN, GEORGE WIL- LIAM-Son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. McClain, 447 Ridge Ave. Born December 21, 1899. En- listed May 25, 1917, with Com- pany H, Ioth Infantry, 28th Di- vision. He was sent to Camp Hancock, sailed overseas May 2, 1918. Was wounded and per- manently disabled in the left arm. Returned to the United States December 23, 1918, and was honorably discharged from service January 22, 1919.

He was sent to Camp Grant, placed with the 872nd Aero Squadron, was made Corporal April 15, 1918, and was honorably discharged from ser- vice January 10, 1919.


McPEAKE, LEROY BEVAN -Son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. McPeake, 450 Ridge Ave. Born October 14, 1894. Enlisted in August, 1917. He was attached to the Medical Corps, sent to Walter Reed Army Hospital, made Corporal.


MCPHEE, DANIEL-Son of Mr. and Mrs. William McPhee, Houston. Born June 3, 1898. Enlisted June 18, 1917, with Bat- tery C, IIth Field Artillery, 6th Division. He was sent to Doug- las, Ariz., then sailed overseas July 13, 1918. Returned to the United. States June 10, 1919.


McQUAIDE, ELMER, McNutt St .- Born in March, 1895. Was inducted into service May 24, 1918. Sent to Camp Sherman and placed with Base Hospital No. 69. He was trans- ferred to Fort Oglethorpe, sailed overseas August 28, 1918. Re- turned to the United States March 3, 1919, and was honor- ably discharged from service one month later.


McWILLIAMS, C. R .- Son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McWil- liams, Pike St., Houston. Born November 3, 1894. Enlisted June 27, 1917, in the Artillery and was transferred to the Marines. He was sent to Quantico, placed with 106th Company, Ist Regi- ment. Was made Sergeant and was Coach on Rifle Range at Fort Crockett. Sergeant McWil- liams was, July 1, 1919, in service at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.


McWILLIAMS, WALTER- Son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McWilliams, Houston. Born June 25, 1896. Enlisted Decem- ber 5, 1917, with the Motor Me- chanics. He was sent to Kelly Field, placed with the 803rd Re- pair Squadron, sailed overseas in February, 1918. Returned to the United States June 12, 1919.


McWILLIAMS, ADDISON -Son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Mc Williams, 364 Ridge Ave. Born August 5, 1892. Enlisted with the Marine Corps, June 27, 1917, and was placed with Ma- chine Gun Battalion No. 6. He was stationed at Philadelphia League Island, sailed overseas May 22, 1918, was in the St. Mihiel, Chateau Thierry, and Argonne drives.

NEISH, EDWARD AN- DREW-Son of Mr. and Mrs. William Neish, 226 Vine St. Born May 18, 1900. Enlisted in the S. A. T. C. at the University of Pittsburgh, and was placed with Company 3, 2nd Infantry. He was honorably discharged from service December 12, 1918.


OBRIAN, DANIEL-Son of Tim Obrian, born July 20, 1891. Enlisted April 19, 1917. He was sent to Camp Funston, was at- tached to the 27th Infantry, and was honorably discharged from service in January, 1919.


OBRIAN, GROVER-Son of Tim Obrian. Born August 17, 1894, was inducted into service June 26, 1918, and sent to Camp Greenleaf. He was attached to Base Hospital No. 69, went over- seas in 1918.


O'BRIEN, DAVID-Son of Mr. and Mrs. John O'Brien, 204 Second St. Born July 2, 1894. Was inducted into service Octo- ber 6, 1917. He was sent to Camp Sherman, placed with the Quartermaster Corps, was made Corporal, and died October 8, 1918, of pneumonia.


OLINGER, CHARLES-Son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Olinger, Manifold. Born August 28, 1896. Was inducted into service May 26, 1918. Sent to Camp Green- leaf and placed with Base Hos- pital No. 69. He sailed for France in August, 1918.


PANELLI, ANTONIO, Houston. Born June 5, 1888. Was inducted into service June 5, 1917. He was assigned to Camp Sherman, placed with 158th Depot Brigade, Ist Train- ing Battalion, and was honorably discharged from service Decem- ber 8, 1918.
