A memorial service was con- ducted Saturday, Dec. 16 at the United Methodist Church in Kernville for Gardiner Eissler of Kernville. Officiating was Rev. Grant Allen, pastor.
Mr. Eissler passed away Dec. 13 at the Kern Valley Hospital in Mt. Mesa. He is survived by his father, Sargeant Eissler; brothers Henry and Richard; sisters Candace, Mary, Kelley, Bly and Elizabeth.
Gardiner Eissler served in the military from 1959 to 1962. Born April 25, 1940 in Bakersfield, Gar- diner Eissler was 49 years of age.

Irene Carol Dalley
Irene . Carol Dalley passed away Dec. 24 at a nursing home in Bakersfield. She was 95.
Servcies were held at the Kern- ville Methodist Church on Dec. 28, followed by.interment at the Kern Valley Cemetery. Reverend Grant Allen officiating.
Mrs. Dalley was born Oct. 26, 1894 in San Bernardino. Her parents, well-known ranchers in the Kern Valley, were Thomas John Gilbert of Cornwall, England and Marie Rene, a native of Germany.
Irene lived her entire life in the Kern Valley. She and her hus- band, Arthur Dalley, operated the home ranch and dairy near Kernville for many years.
Survivors include one son, Robert Diltz, of Burbank; and one daughter, Carol Luthey of Kernville.

Vaughn Allen Turner of Mt. Mesa passed away Dec. 23 at Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield. He is surviv- ed by his wife Helen of Mt. Mesa; sons Clifford of Lake Isabella, Michael of Mt. Mesa; daughter Patti Blake of Mt. Mesa; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Turner was retired from the General Telephone Co. after 30 years of service. He had resided in the Kern Valley for the past 15 years having liv- ed in Long Beach before retirement.

A funeral service was conducted Thursday, Jan. 4 at the Masonic Tem- ple, James Road in Kernville for Aubrey Stains of Southlake. Of- ficiating were officers of KRV Masonic Lodge No. 827 with eulogy delivered by Tom Mckinney, Mr. Stains passed away Dec. 31 at the Kern Valley Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Agnes of Southlake; son Aubrey L. Stains of Arizona; daughter Jeanne McEwin of California, son Emmett Stains of DI- linois; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Aubrey Stains was a Master Mason and a member of KRV Lodge 827. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, a member of the Shrine and a past president of the Lake Isabella Shrine Club and a former Worthy Patron of Eastern Star.
Born June 6, 1902 in Kansas, Aubrey Leigh Stains was 87 years of age.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Zelda of Bodfish; daughter Bar- bara Johnson of Farmingdale, New Jersey; sons Bruce of Bodfish, Alan of La Jolla; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Mr. Stephenson was retired from the Lockheed Aircraft Co. and had resided in the Kern Valley for the past 14 years.

Joseph Dorsey Mathews
Private family services will be held for Joseph Dorsey Mathews, who died suddenly at his home in Kernville on Jan. 8.
Mr. Mathews served with the 101st Airborne paratrooper unit from 1941 to 1948, including a tour in France. He was a member of the KRV Veterns of Foreign Wars Post 7665.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy of Kernville and three daughters Merry O'Connell of Her- masa Beach, Jill Nandan of Van Nuys and Elizabeth Mathews of San Diego; two grandchildren, Samuel Sandt and Caroline Sandt and two great grand- children, Phillip and Sara Bergan.
Mathews had been a resident of the Kern Valley for the past 10 years.
Born Dec. 22, 1913 in Logan, Utah, Joseph Dorsey Mathews was 76 ycars of age.

Rose Robinson
Services were held for Rose II. Robin- son, 88, of Weldon at the Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Charles Smith of the Weldon Methodist Church officiating.
A lifelong Weldon resident, Mrs. Robinson was a 50 year member of the Weldon PTA, a member of the Weldon Methodist Church, the South Fork Women's Club and the Kem Valley Historical Society.

Ella Louise Witten, 49, died Dec. 29 in an auto accident in Lake Isabella.
Mrs. Witten was born in Shafter and was a resident of Tulare at the time of her death. She graduated from Mt. Whitney High School and the College of the Scquoias.
She is survived by her son JessLynn Witten, Lake Isabella; daughter Carleen Lynette Chico, Weldon; mother Alice Marie Stockton of Ivanhoc; sister Imogene Hickman, Tulare; brother Allan White, Hanford and three grandchildren.

Services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Paso Robles on Jan. 16 for Luella B. Stambaugh, 82, of Paso Robles, who died Jan. 12 in an Atascadero hospital.
She was a resident of Paso Robles for six years and moved from Kern- ville, where she resided for 30 years.

Kay Potrecz
A funeral serivce was conducted Friday, Jan 19 at the Kem Valley Mortuary Chapel for Kay Potrecz of Wofford Heights. Officiating was Rev. Grant Allen of the Kernville Methodist Church and officers of KRV Chapter 643 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Potrecz passed away Jan. 17 at home following illness.
She is preceded in death by hus- band Julian and sister Dorothy. Kay Is survived by grandchildren Steven Branson, Rence Dakin, Veronica Walker and eight great- grandchildren.
Kay Potrecz was a member of the Easter Star and had served as Wor- thy Matron in the El Monte Chapter where she was also a member of the White Shrine and the Daughters of the Nile of the Kern Valley. Kay was a dependent member of Troa, the retired officers association.
Born June 14, 1907 in Harper, Kan- sas, Katherine Harriet "Kay" Potrecz was 82.

Lawrence Glenn Lynn
Lawrence Glenn Lynn died Jan. 4 at home. Ile was born in Ann Arbor, MI on Aug. 5, 1911 and grew up in Tuc- son, Arizona, he attended school, including the University of Arizona. He enrolled in the Curtiss-Wright Technical Institute and carned a degree of Master Avlation Mechanic.
During WW II, he was in charge of maintenance of the Army Air Corps planes which supplied all the bases in the Mojave desert.
He later became a refrigeration engineer in his own business in San Bernardino.
In 1940, he married Dorothy Klink, who survives him.
Survivors include his wife, son Roger and daughter Jennifer; grand- sons Tyler and Martin Johnson and a granddaughter Trisha Lynn; brother Richard of Santa Barbara.
Services were held at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lake Isabella on Jan. 13.

A graveside funeral service was conducted Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Kern River Valley Cemetery in Wof- ford Heights for James L. Valdez of Weldon. Officiating was Gene Yar- wood of the LDS Ministry of the Kem River Valley. Mr. Valdez passed away Jan. 17 at Kem Valley Hospital.
He was a member of an old Bakersfield family who came to Bakersfield when it was only a stage stop. Mr. Valdez was a student of East Bakersfield High School and left to defend his country during WW II. He served in the U.S. Navy as Bosun Mate aboard the warships U.S.S. Kin- drick and U.S.S. Alamance. He was active in the VFW and the Kern Valley Historical Society.
Since 1949, he had been a masonry contractor and had built many familiar buildings in the area.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Ruth of Weldon; sons, James Jr. of Weldon, Jerry of Kernville, Jim of Bakersfield, Hugh of Mira Loma; daughters Denise Palmer of Pollock Pines, Tina Valdez of Weldon, Linda Jones of Tipton; brother Albert Valdez of Bakersfield; sisters Myrtle Manning of San Luis Obispo; 15 grandchildren and 2 great grand- children. Mr. Valdez is preceded in death by his brother, Manuel.

Lloyd Lorraine Johnson
Graveside services were held on Dec. 22 at the East Line Street Cemetery in Bishop for Lloyd Lor- raine Johnson, 86, of Lake Isabella, who passed away in a hospital in Big Pinc on Dec. 20.
Mr. Johnson had been a resident of Lake Isabella for 18 years.
Hle is survived by his daughter and son in law Patricia and Fred Patter- son of Bishop; 5 grandchildren, Lin- da Hayward of Fountain Valley, Brent Patterson, Bishop, Byron Pat- terson of Bishop, Scott Patterson of Bishop and Leslie Appel of Fountain Valley.
Ile was born on May 17, 1903 in Harlan. Iowa.
Ida Mary Kerr
A graveside service was conducted Thursday, Jan 18 at the Kern River Valley Cemetery for Ida Mary Kerr of Lake Isabella. Officiating was Rev. Monsignor Anthony Herdegen, pastor of St. Jude Parish Catholic church in Wofford Heights. Mrs. Kerr passed away Jan. 13 at the Pacific Regency Hospital, in Arvin.
She Is survived by her sisters in law Olga and Ophelia Kerr, both of Lake Isabella and two nieces.
Born Oct. 23, 1899 in Missouri, Ida Mary Kert' was 90 years of age.

Gene Gorden
A memorial service will be con- ducted at the KRV Elks Lodge for Gene A Gorden of Wofford Heights on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. Of- ficiating will be officers of BPOE Elks 2358.
Mr. Gorden passed away Jan. 17 at the Scripps Medical Center Green Hospital in La Jolla.
He is survived by his wife Ellie of Wofford Heights; daughters Sharon Johnston of Oregon, Marion Bigelow of Colorado, Teresa Matteson of Oregon; sisters Myrtle Choate, Dorothy Johnson, Kathryn Warren; brothers William, James, Claude, Charles and five grandchildren.
Gene Gorden was a well known earth mover and had done site preparation for many of the homes in the Kern Valley. He was past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge from 1977-78 and was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Born Sept. 8, 1928 in Crestline, Kan- sas, Eugene Alfred Gorden was 63.
