Monday, January 19, 1948, adjourned to March 31, 1948
On a warrant duly issued by the Selectmen under the date of Janu. ary 6, 1948, and signed by H. William Anderson, Walter J. Dempsey, Sture Nelson, Clement A. Riley and Harry B. Butters, Selectmen of Norwood the meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Francis C. Foley. The proper service of this warrant was duly attested by James E Quinn, Constable of Norwood.
All the requirements of the statutes and by-laws relating to elections and town meetings were complied with. The articles contained in the warrant, and the action thereunder is as follows:
ARTICLE 1. To choose all necessary Town Officers. The fol- lowing are to be chosen by ballot, namely: Two Selectmen for three years; one Town Treasurer and Collector of Taxes for one year; one Moderator for one year; one member of the Board of Health for three years; two members of the Town Planning Board for three years; one Finance Commissioner for three years; two members of the School Committee for three years; two Trustees of the Morrill Memorial Library for three years; six Constables for one year; and to vote by ballot upon the following question:
"Shall an act passed by the general court in the year ninteen hundred and forty-seven, entitled 'An Act to establish representative town government by limited town meetings in the town of Norwood' be accepted by this town?"
Two Selectmen for Three Years.
John A. Abdallah had ten hundred and seventy-nine (1079) votes. H. William Anderson had fifteen hundred and six (1506) votes. Harry B. Butters had seventeen hundred ninety-seven (1797) votes. Elected and sworn by Town Clerk and Accountant. Michael C. Donahue had seven hundred fifty-seven (757) votes. John J. Foley had one hundred and eleven (111) votes. Walter J. Gotovich had nine hundred and seventy (970) votes.
Rosewell A. Norton had six hundred and twenty-four (624) votes. Owen F. Sullivan had two hundred and five (205) votes.

On a notice duly attested by the Town Clerk and Accountant, Walter A. Blasenak, and dated March 22, 1948, the Adjourned Annual Town Meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Francis C. Foley. The proper service of this notice was duly attested by James E. Quinn, Constable of Norwood.
The articles contained in the warrant and the action thereunder . is as follows:

REPORT OF TOWN CLERK
Butters, Clement A. Riley, W. J. Dempsey, Selectmen of Norwood, the meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Francis C. Foley. The proper service of this warrant was duly attested by James C. Quiun, Constable of Norwood.
All the requirements of the statutes and by-laws relating to the calling of the town meeting were complied with. The warrant calling the meeting was read by Town Clerk and Accountant, Walter A. Blasenak. The articles contained in the warrant, and the action there- under being as follows:
ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of constructing an outdoor swimming pool at Hawes Brook; determine whether the money shall be provided for by taxation, by appropriation from available funds in the treasury, or by appropriation from the Post-War Rehabilitation Fund, or take any other action in the matter.
Voted : By taxation, the sum of $20,000.00.
ARTICLE 2. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate for repairs and improvements of real estate owned by the Town, or take any other action in the matter.
Voted : By taxation, the sum of $750.00.
ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of providing shelter for veterans of World War II who are residents of the Town of Norwood, or take any other action in the matter.

ARTICLE 4. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to cover the expense for codification of Town By-Laws, or take any other action in the matter.

ARTICLE 6. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise and appropriate to meet the expense of printing the proposed building code for the Town of Norwood.

To see if the Town will vote to accept as a town way under the provisions of law relating to the assessment of betterments, a new way as laid out and reported by the Selectmen, to be known as Ellis Avenue and substantially in the location of an existing private way, and to raise and appropriate a sum of money for the payment of dam- ages, or take any other action in the matter.

To sce if the Town will vote to accept from the Women's Community Committee the sum of Three Hundred Dollars, said sum to be expended by the Trustees of the Morrill Memorial Library for the purpose of providing a film lending service for the Town. ARTICLE 12. To see if the Town will vote to acquire by purchase cr take by eminent domain for public parking purposes certain areas or parcels of land westerly of the High School shown on "Sketch of Proposed Parking Area also Public Garden, Norwood, Mass." on file with the Town Clerk, and to raise and appropriate a sum of money for said purpose. (On request of the Norwood Housing Trust.)

On a notice duly attested by the Town Clerk and Accountant, Walter A. Blasenak, the following articles of the Warrant of the Annual Town Meeting which were referred to the Finance Commission were acted upon:

l'oted : That the Seventy-Sixth Annual Report of the town officials of the Town of Norwood be received and accepted as printed.
Voted : That the report of the Finance Commission and its recommendations with respect to appropriation estimates for the year 1948 be received and acted upon.
ARTICLE 5. To see what disposition the town will make of money received for dog licenses.
Voted: That this article be laid upon the table to be taken up and acted upon together with Item 8, Sub-Division D, of Article 6.
