All the requirements of the statutes and by-laws relating to the calling of the town meeting were complied with. The warrant calling the meeting was read by Town Clerk and Accountant, Walter A. Blasenak. The articles contained in the warrant, and the action thereunder being as follows:
ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to rescind action taken under Article 12 of the warrant for the Special Town Meeting held on March 31, 1949, whereby it was voted that the sum of $40,000.00 be raised by taxation and appropriated for the purpose of establishing a Cost of Living Adjustment Plan in connection with the salaries of all full-time employecs of the Town except school teachers.
Voted: To so rescind.
ARTICLE 2. To see what sum the Town will vote to raise by taxation, or borrow, or transfer from the Post War Rehabilitation Fund, the Post War Rehabilitation Fund interest or any other available funds in the treasury and appropriate for the purpose of drains construction, or take any other action in the matter.

ARTICLE 3. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to borrow, or transfer from the Post-War Rehabilitation Fund, Sale of Real Estate Fund, or any other available funds in the treasury and appropriate for the purpose of Water Construction, or take any other action in the matter.

ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to amend the vote passed under Article 17 of the Warrant for the Special Town Meeting held March 31, 1949, whereby it was voted to appropriate $50,000.00 for the purpose of constructing a public works yard and building on town-owned land off Wash- ington Street by providing that the appropriation be made available for the purchase of land adjacent to the present public works yard and for construct- ing a building thereon.

October 10, 1949

Butters, Selectmen of Norwood, the meeting was called to order by the Moderator, Francis C. Foley. The proper service of this warrant was duly attested by James E. Quinn, Constable of Norwood.

ARTICLE 1. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell at public auction or private sale and convey by appropriate deed at a price to be determined by them a certain parcel of land with the buildings thereon situated on Plimpton Avenue shown on a plan entitled "Plan of Sub- division of Land Norwood, Mass." dated May 11, 1949 A. W. Thompson, Town Engineer, said parcel being bounded Northerly by Plimpton Avenue Eighty (80) feet; Easterly by other land of the Town of Norwood One hundred twenty-one and 45/100 (121.45) feet; Southerly by land of Elsie Nelson and Stephen and Anne Devine Eighty-five and 12/100 (85.12) feet and Westerly by land of the Town of Norwood One hundred fifty and 52/100 (150.52) feet. Containing 10,879 square feet.
Voted: To so authorize the Selectmen.
ARTICLE 2. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to sell and convey by appropriate dced in behalf of the Town to Margaret Hanf of Norwood a certain parcel of land with the buildings thereon situated on Plimpton Avenue shown on a plan entitled "Plan of Subdivision of Land Norwood, Mass." dated May 11, 1949, A. W. Thompson, Town Engineer, said parcel being bounded Northerly by Plimpton Avenue Sixty (60) feet; Easterly by land of Town of Norwood One hundred fifty and 52/100 (150.52) feet; Southerly by land of James H. and John F. Murphy, John J. and Anne L. O'Hara and Elsie Nelson Sixty-three and 84/100 (63.84) feet and Westerly by land of William M. and Margaret M. Crimmins One hundred seventy-two and 31/100 (172.31) feet. Containing 9,685 square feet. Such conveyance to be made in consideration of the release by said Margaret Hanf to the Town of her claim for damage resulting from the taking by the Town of the land of said Margaret Hanf for the relocation of Lenox Street.

ARTICLE 3. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to convey by appropriate deed in bchalf of the Town a certain parcel of land lying Easterly of Washington Strect, Southerly of the Norwood Press and Westerly of the right of way of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Rail- road Company, shown as Parcel "A" on a plan entitled "Plan of Land in

Smith, Town Engineer" dated July 14, 1926 recorded with Norfolk Deeds Book 1715 Page 544 and containing 45176 square feet more or less to the United States Veterans' Building Association of Norwood in consideration of the conveyance by said United States Veterans' Building Association of said Nor- wood to the Town of Norwood of a parcel of land owned by said Association lying on the Northerly side of Railroad Avenue and containing 42,115 square feet more or less.
Voted: To so authorize the Selectmen.
ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from Water Con- struction and make available by appropriation thcreof the sum of Seven hundred thirty-nine dollars and sixty-one cents ($739.61) and pay the same to Edward O'Toole in full settlement of his claim against the Town for reim- bursement on account of money expended in connection with the construc- tion of water works in Margaret Street a private way in the Town which has since been accepted as a public way; provided that no payment shall be made unless and until said Edward O'Toole shall have released to the Town by proper instrument or instruments all right, title and interest said Edward O'Toole may have in said works in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 91, Acts of 1949.

ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will vote to transfer from Water Con- struction and make available by appropriation thereof the sum of One thousand two hundred sixty-eight dollars ($1,268) and pay the same to Aina S. Svibergson in full settlement of her claim against the Town for reimbursement on account of moncy expended in connection with the con- struction of water works in Cambridge Road a private way in the Town which has since been accepted as a public way; provided that no payment shall be made unless and until said Aina S. Svibergson shall have released to the Town by proper instrument or instruments all right, title and interest said Aina S. Svibergson may have in said works in accordance with the pro- visions of chapter 91 Acts of 1949.

ARTICLE 6. To see what sum of money the Town will vote to transfer from the sale of real estate fund, or any other available funds in the treasury, and appropriate the same for the purpose of water maintenance and opera- tion, or take any other action in the matter.

Voted: On substitute motion, that a committee of seven be appointed by the Moderator to make a study of the question as to whether or not the parcel of land in question shall be used for burial purposes and a study of the entire cemetery prob- lem, said committee to report to the Town at the Annual Adjourned Town Meeting in 1951 or at a meeting prior thereto.
ARTICLE 4. To see if the Town will vote to abandon that portion of the old Lenox Street which does not come within the limits of the present Lenox Street as relocated or take any other action in the matter.
