GREETING :-
In the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of Weymouth aforesaid quali- fied to vote in Town Affairs to meet in the hall of the Weymouth High School on
MONDAY, THE TWENTY-THIRD DAY OF JANUARY, 1956
at seven o'clock and forty-five minutes in the evening then and there to act upon the following Articles, namely :
ARTICLE 1. (At the request of the School Committee). To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1955, being an Act authorizing the Town to use certain land off Com- mercial Street, East Weymouth now held for playground purposes, for school purposes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 2. (At the request of the East Weymouth School Building Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation, or otherwise, and appropriate, for the purpose of constructing and originally equipping and furnishing an elementary school on the portion of the East Weymouth Playground set aside for school purposes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 3. (At the request of the Building Committee). To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation, or otherwise, and appropriate for the purpose of acquiring by gift, purchase, or eminent domain in fee part of Lot 5, Block 253, containing about 1700 sq. ft., as appears on Sheet 23 of the Atlas of the Town of Weymouth for the year 1954, for the purpose of widening the entrance to the school site reserved from the northwest portion of the East Weymouth Playground, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 4. (At request of the Park Department). To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate by taxation, or otherwise, the sum of $6,000.00 for the purpose of reconstructing the tennis courts and play ap- paratus at the East Weymouth School Building site on Lovell Park, from School Department land to Park Department, work to be done under the direction of the Park Department, or take any other action in relation thereto.
You are directed to serve this Warrant by posting a copy thereof, at- tested by you in writing, in each of two public places in each voting pre- cinct in said Town, seven days at least before the time for holding the first meeting called for in this Warrant.
Hereof fail not, and make due return of this Warrant with your doings thereon to the Town Clerk of said Town on or before the thirteenth day of January in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and fifty six.

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING - January 23, 1956
Pursuant to a Warrant duly issued, the Special Town Meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of Weymouth, represented by their duly elected and qualified Town Meeting Members, was held in the auditorium of the Weymouth High School on Monday, January 23, 1956.
The Meeting was called to order at 7:45 o'clock in the evening by the Annual Moderator, Mr. Daniel L. O'Donnell.
The Town Clerk, Mr. Harry Christensen, read the call of the meeting. There were 150 Town Meeting Members present.
Upon motion duly made, it was
UNANIMOUSLY VOTED. That the reading of the Articles in the Warrant be suspended.
Prayer for Divine Guidance at this Special Town Meeting was offered by Rev. Fr. Raymond Valle, Assistant Pastor, St. Francis Xavier R. C. Church of South Weymouth.
There were no Town Meeting Members to be sworn in.
The Moderator declared a quorum present.
We now continue with consideration of the Articles in the Warrant. ARTICLE 1. (At the request of the School Committee). To see if the Town will vote to accept the provisions of Chapter 179 cf the Acts of 1955, being an Act authorizing the Town to use certain land off Commer- cial Street, East Weymouth now held for playground purposes, for school purposes, or take any other action in relation thereto.
Upon motion duly made by the Appropriation Committee, it was UNANIMOUSLY VOTED: That the Town accept the provisions of Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1955, authorizing the Town to use certain land

off Commercial Street, East Weymouth, now held for playground purposes, for school purposes. Said land being described on a plan held by the Town Clerk and previously transferred under Article 35 of the Annual Town meeting held on March 7, 1955.
Description of land to be acquired by the Town of Weymouth, School Department, from the Town Weymouth, being part of the East Weymouth Playground :
Beginning at a point on the Southeasterly side line of Station Street at land of Edward V. Sullivan and Mary A. Sullivan; thence running Southeasterly by said land of Edward V. Sullivan and Mary A. Sullivan, by land of Martin T. O'Toole and Margaret E. O'Toole, tenants by the entirety, by land of Ruth M. Lang, and by land of the Town of Weymouth. a total distance of about 326 feet to an angle point; thence running South- westerly by said land of the Town of Weymouth, a distance of about 117 feet, to other land of the Town of Weymouth fronting on Commercial Street, thence turning and running Southeasterly by said other land of the Town of Weymouth and by land of Tristano T. Mariano and Jessie P. Mariano, joint tenants, a total distance of about 97.00 feet to land of Martha E. Maddy; thence turning and running Northeasterly by said land of Martha E.
