Delorey and Marie T. Delorey, tenants by the entirety, and running in an Easterly direction along said Southerly property line of the above mentioned Leo A. and Marie T. Delorey for a distance of twenty-six feet (26'); thence turning in a Southerly direction and running along the West- erly street line of Fairfax Street, Private Way, for a distance of about two hundred and forty-seven (247') to a point of joint properties of George A. Pasqualucci and John Durante, Trustees, and Oakcrest Realty Co., Inc .. and Leo A. and Marie T. Bilodeau, Town Engineer, for all purposes for which ways are commonly used in the Town of Weymouth, together with others entitled thereto.


Also appurtenant to the above described four (4) parcels of land is herein included a Right of Way off Green Street to Parcel "A" bounded Northerly by land now or formerly of Walter A. Beck and Violet A. Beck tenants by the entirety, and land now or formerly of Joseph E. Walker. Jr., and Mary B. Walker, tenants by the entirety; Southerly by land now or formerly of Stephen J. Materia and Antonette M. Materia, tenants by the entirety, and Oakcrest Realty Co., Inc., as shown on Plan 52-B en- titled "Green Street School Site", made by Arthur J. Bilodeau, Town En- gineer, for all purposes for which ways are commonly used in the Town of Weymouth, together with others entitled thereto.


And that $21,500.00 be appropriated from available funds (Excess and Deficiency Account) for this purpose. The present owners for this $21,500.00 are given the right to remove excess fill to such elevations established by the Town Engineer and under the Town Engineer's supervision. The con- $21,500.00 tract for purchase under the terms of this motion will not extend beyond June 1, 1957.

The Chair ordered a teller count of the Town Meeting Members present for the purpose of establishing the presence of a quorum. Count was made and the tellers reported 146 Town Meeting Members present. The Chair then declared a quorum present affirming validity of the vote taken on the substitute motion by Mr. Nover, as amended twice, under Article 2.


ARTICLE 3. (At Request of School Committee) To see what sum of money the Town will vote to raise by taxation, or otherwise, and appro- priate, for the purpose of preparing complete drawings and detailed specifications in order that bids may be secured for the construction of a new elementary school on the site proposed and described in Article 2 of the Warrant, or take any other action in relation thereto.


MOVED by the Approriation Committee:


That $26,000.00 be appropriated for the purpose of preparing complete drawings and detailed specifications in order that bids may be secured for the construction of a new Elementary School located off Green Street. and of said sum appropriated, $4,130.70 shall be taken from the Excess and Deficiency Account, $8,155.65 from the Ralph Talbot Building Account, $1,337.52 from the Ralph Talbot 'Plan Account, $5,823.88 from the Central Junior High Account, $948.80 from the Academy Avenue School Account, $375.86 from the Johnson School Plan Account, $5,227.59 from the Johnson School Account, and that a committee of seven (7) be apointed by the Moderator to act as a building committee for this particular building.

ARTICLE 4. (By Direction of the Drainage Committee) To see if the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise, a sum of money to take care of the drainage from the westerly boundary of the Shaw School site to Mill River, shown on a plan by Arthur Bilodeau, Town Engineer, all work to be done by private contract, under the direction of the Board of Selectmen and the Town Engineer, and that the Board of Selectmen be authorized to secure or accept any easements necessary for the above purpose, or take any other action in relation thereto.

ARTICLE 6. (By Direction of the Drainage Committee) To see if the Town will vote to raise by taxation or otherwise the sum of $135,000.00 for the installation of a drainage system from Libby Field to Back River, as recommended in report by Metcalf and Eddy, Engineers, in report of July 19, 1956 to the Weymouth. Drainage Committee, that all work to be done by private contract under the direction of the Board of Selectmen and the Town Engineer, and that the Board of Selectmen be authorized to secure or accept by gift, purchase or by right of eminent domain, in fee, or otherwise, any easements necessary for the above purpose, and all damage shall be payable from above appropriation, or take any other action in relation thereto.


Upon motion duly mde by the Appropriation Committee, it was


UNANIMOUSLY VOTED: That the sum of one hundred thirty-five thousand dollars ($135,000.00) be raised and appropriated for the instal- lation of a drainage system from Libby Field to Back River, as recom- mended in the report by Metcalf and Eddy, Engineers, dated July 19, 1956 to the Weymouth Drainage Committee, of which the sum of $10,000.00, which is hereby transferred from the Excess and Deficiency Account, shall be for all of said system other than the construction of pipes or culverts and the sum of $125,000.00 shall be for the construction of the pipes or culverts recommended in said report, and the Treasurer with the approval of the Board of Selectmen is hereby authorized to borrow $125,000.00 there- for and to issue bonds or notes in accordance with the General Laws. Chapter 44, as amended, payable in not more than thirteen years from their respective dates, that all work be done by private contract under the direction of the Board of Selectmen and the Town Engineer, and that the Board of Selectmen be authorized to secure or accept by gift, purchase or by right of eminent domain in fee, or otherwise, any easements neces- sary for the above purpose, and all damage shall be payable from the above appropriations. $ 10,000.00

ARTICLE 7. (At Request of Planning Board.) To see if the Townl will take by purchase or eminent domain, in fee, land on the ocean side of Wessagussett Road, between North Street and Massasoit Road, for highway or beach purposes, or take any other action in relation thereto.

UNANIMOUSLY VOTED: That the subject matter of this Article be referred to a committee of three to be appointed by the Town Moderator, they to report at the next Annual Town Meeting.


ARTICLE 8. (At Request of the Personnel Board) To see if the Town will vote to amend Article 4, Section 409 of the Town By-laws as follows: Vote to pay the Superintendent of Fire Alarm System and the Signal Maintenance Craftsman for time worked over forty hours per week at regular rates based on a forty-hour work week.


MOVED by the Appropriation Committee:

MOVED the following substitute motion by Mr. Amabile of the Board of Selectmen:

UNANIMOUSLY VOTED: That the sum of seven hundred ($700.00) dollars to be raised and appropriated from the Excess and Deficiency Ac- count to resurface the water trench on Thicket Street, said work to be done under the direction of the Board of Water Commissioners. ($700.00)

In the name of the Commonwealth you are hereby required to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town who are qualified to vote in Elec- tions to meet at the polling places of their respective Precinct, to wit:


In Precinct 1 in the Bicknell School Hall;


In Precinct 2 in the American Legion Hall on Commercial Street;


In Precinct 3 in the Charles Y. Berry Auditorium in the Hunt School Building on Broad Street;


In Precinct 4 in the building of the Citizens' Association, Inc., on Front Street;


In Precinct 5 in the building of the Pond School, Pond Street;


In Precinct 6 in the basement of the Washington School on the corner of School and Commercial Streets;


In Precinct 7 in the Lovell's Corner Improvement Association building on Washington Street;


In Precinct 8 in the Weymouth Heights Club Building on North Street; In Precinct 9 in the Parish House, Old South Union Congregational Church, Fogg Road and Columbian Street;


In Precinct 10 in the Homestead School off appproximately 425 Front Street;
