Election Precinct A Warren Mass November 8th 1898 Meeting was called to order by Edward Stanton, Deputy Warden in the town hall. The warrant was read by the clock, " The instructions to voters and specimen ballots wire posted according to law, The ballot box was open ed and shown to be empty at 9, 25 A. M. The dial showing three ciphers, The voters were requested to bin. in their ballots at 9.30 A. M.


Ballots were given out by inspectors C. S. Hitchcock (rep) and H. Melvin Underwood ( dem ) The ballot box was placed in charge of Albert Hood, and (dem) The check ist was kept by Herbert is Shepard (rek) Constable NA Putnam admitted the voters.


Box opened at 1-15 P. M. and 231 ballots removed! Voted at 1.45 P. M. to close the polls at 4. P. NO Votes counted and canvassed by James White and Ihm Quinlan (dem) and D. C. Gravis and b. F. Har wood (rep) Falls closed at 4 P. M. The ballos box refused to work many times and required ad- justing. The dial showed the figures 329- this was incorrectas 327 ballots were given out 327 names chucked and with 96 ballots removed when the poll were closed added to the previous 231 removed gan 327 ballots as the total vote. To seewhat action the town will take to auth. orize the Treasures of the Town to borrow such sum of money as may be necessary for the purpose of" effecting a settlement with the Narrow Cotton Mills of the two cases now pending in the Superior Court, both bring entitled Warren Cotton Mills, Petitionesfor Abate- ment of Taxes, against Town of Harrow: such sum of money not to exceed $8000; Said loan not to be in anticipations of the taxes for the current year.

Voles Otherend the Sparrow Cotton Hills have brought in the Superior Court two petitions for abatement of taxes for the years 1896 and 1897, And whereas, a settlement is being effected regarding this matter between the selectionentre- Presenting the Young of Havrew on the one hand and the Man de botton Mills on the other hand, Voted: That the Treasures of the Town be authorized to borrow such sum of money as may be necess- ary to settle said cases of Gamers Bolton Mille, Petitioners for Abatement of Taxes against Town of
