Art. 20, Whereas there are certain unsettled claims of M. 76. Kelley. for salary and services and expenses in prosecuting and de- funding suits for and against the Town of Haben as well as claims of the Town against him, thereforeit is voted that the Selection and Assessors including those this day elected acting on behalf of the Town and the Collectors past and present for 1894. 1895. and 1896 and their sureties in their on behalf be and are hereby instructed to use all effort to settle all claims for and against( without arbitration a resort to the courts if possible) and to that ind said Selectmen and Assessors may allow and draw orders for Luck claims as they deem just and shall abate such taxes and interest as in their judgement ought to be abated and said Collectors shall have full powers so far as suite on the enforcement of claims for unpaid taxes against in- dividuals or corporations are concerned and said fil. ectmen and Assessor shall report their doings under this article at the next annual meeting, but until a settle- ment by compromise payment or abatement is made, said collectors and their sweeties shall continue to be holdew" declared carried.

of macadam road opposite Ochrard Jaubank's store run- ing Hest to West Side of Luatrag St. about 650 ft,; the work to be done in a similar manner as the work of last year but using not exceeding four anchestones in surfacingthe road. Also to include Street fronting the Town Hall from Manic Street to Street leading to Rail Road Bridge about IS. H. Also improve the Main Street in Hest Harren from the Street end of the State Highwayabout 350 ft, to the work done by the Town last year, in a similar manner as the work of last year. And if there be any money left, the balance shall t expended, as far as it will go, in putting in a drain or Server of not less than 12 inch Akrow Pipe, commencing at the Brook east of J. A. Keith's house , and running west about 560 gr., which is opposite the Heat corner of Alfred L. Converse's lot, and extend the drain across the road to the intersection of Burbank Av. and Curtis Are, about 120 ft., putting in such catch basins as required to take the water from said Streets.
