Comes now the question on the substitute motion by Mr. Nourse. UNANIMOUSLY VOTED
ARTICLE 93. (By Petition). To see what action the Town will take to obtain an improvement to the existing channel in the Wey- mouth Fore River, south and east of the Boston Edison Co. station, and a harbor or refuge adjacent to Town owned property at Woronocco Rd., to wit:

A channel to be dredged 100 ft. wide by 6 ft. deep at mean low water starting at the southwest corner of the Boston Edison Co. bulk- head and extending approximately 1300 yds. due east to a point off Woronocco Rd., North Weymouth. A rectangular harbor of refuge to be dredged from the easterly end of said channel, off Woronocco Rd., extending 250 ft. due south and 300 ft. west.

MOVED the following substitute motion by Mr. Bell:
That the subject matter of Article 93 be referred to the Department of Public Works for further study and a report to be made on the said Article at the next Town Meeting.
Discussion ensued involving several Town Meeting Members and Town Officials.
Comes now the question on the substitute motion by Mr. Bell.
UNANIMOUSLY VOTED.
Before consideration of the remaining Articles in the Warrant the Moderator made the following statement: "The Chair would like to express its appreciation to the members of the Appropriation Commit- tee, Chairman Tanguy and Secretary Newton, and all the members of the Committee, the Town Counsel, Board of Selectmen and head of various Committees, who have all been very helpful to the Chair in preparing for his first task as Moderator, and would ask the members of the Appropriation Committee to stand as I want them to be con- gratulated by the Town. I would like to have them stand and we give them a rising vote of thanks for their work, not in helping me in par- ticular but ther work for the Town." (Standing applause)
Mr. Lane stated: "I would like to move a vote of thanks for your high performance as our new Moderator."
The Moderator stated he felt the motion was out of order.
The Town Meeting Members responded by expressing their appre- ciation of the Moderator by applause.
The Moderator stated that if there were no objection Articles 94 and 97 would be considered jointly at this time. There being no objec- tion we now consider rticles 94 and 97 jointly.
ARTICLE 94. (By Direction of Board of Selectmen). To see if the Town will vote to accept a gift of $10,000.00 from the Estate of Alice Humphrey Taylor, said sum to be held, managed, invested, re- invested and the income thereof to be used for the maintenance of or the purchase of books for Tufts Public Library of said Town or any other public library which may succeed the Tufts Library as the prin- cipal library of said Town, or take any other action in relation thereto.
ARTICLE 97. To see if the Town will vote to accept a gift of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) bequeath to the Town under Article 7 of the Will of the late Charles M. Taylor, said bequest is as follows:

"($5.000.00) Five thousand dollars, in addition to the sum given by her will, to the James Humphrey Fund for the Tufts Public Library," or take any other action in relation thereto.
MOVED by Mr. Sheehy:
That these gifts be accepted and used for the purposes set forth in the wills, and that the Selectmen be instructed to make suitable acknowledgement thereof by installing a plaque with the names of Alice Humphrey Taylor and Charles Malcolm Taylor inscribed thereon with the benefactors of the Town of Weymouth in the rotunda of the Town Hall Building.
Discussion ensued involving Mr. Sheehy, Mr. Amabile of the Board of Selectmen, Mr. Record, and Mr. Newton, Secretary of the Appropri- ation Committee.

In the nanie of the Commonwealth you are hereby required to. notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town who are qualified to vote in Primaries to meet at the polling places of their respective precincts, to wit:
In Precinct 1 in the Bicknell School Hall, 90 Sea Street;
In Precinct 2 in the American Legion Hall on Commercial Street;
In Precinct 3 in the Charles Y. Berry Auditorium in the Hunt School Building on Broad Street;
In Precinct 4 on the ground floor of the Thomas V. Nash Jr. School, 1003 Front Street;
In Precinct 5 in the Building of the Pond School, Pond Street;
In Precinct 6 on the ground floor of the Lawrence W. Pingree School, 1250 Commercial Street;
In Precinct 7 on the ground floor of the South Junior High School, 280 Pleasant Street;
