By virtue of this Warrant I have notified and warned the legal voters of the Town of Arlington to meet at the times and places and for the purposes herein-named by causing a printed attested copy of the same to be left at every dwelling house in the Town, and by posting an attested copy at the doors of the Town Hall seven days at least before said day of meeting and by posting attested copies in two or more conspicuous places in each voting precinct in the Town. A notice of the time, places and objects of the meet- ing was published in the local papers.

TOWN RECORDS
In pursuance of the foregoing Warrant, the inhabitants of the Town of Arlington qualified to vote in elections met in the polling places designated by the Board of Selectmen for the several precincts in said Town on Tuesday, November 6, 1962, at 7 o'clock in the forenoon.
Within one hour after the closing of the polls, the Town Clerk completed delivery of three hundred twenty-eight (328) envelopes received by her pur- porting to contain absent voting ballots, together with the applications there- for, to the election officers in the several voting precincts. The number of such ballots received, cast and/or rejected in each precinct was as follows:

Copies of the records of votes cast at the State Election held in Arlington on November 6, 1962, were this day certified by the Selectmen, and attested and sealed by the Town Clerk in envelopes furnished for the purpose, and transmitted on November 11, 1962 to the Offices of the Secretary of the Commonwealth and the Clerk of Courts for Middlesex County, in accordance with the provisions of Section 112 of Chapter 54 of the General Laws.

Pursuant to the order of the Secretary of State received in accordance with Section 135 of Chapter 54 of the General Laws, a recount of the ballots cast in all the precincts of the Town for the office of Governor at the State Election held on November 6, 1962, was conducted by the Registrars of Voters, assisted by duly appointed clerks, in the Town Hall on Saturday, December 1, 1962, at 8:00 o'clock A.M.

Report of the Town Clerk's Department
To the Citizens of Arlington:
The following annual report of the Town Clerk for the year ending December 31, 1962, is herewith submitted, in accordance with Section 3 of Article 3 of the Town's By-Laws.
The total amount collected by the department during the year and deposited with the Town Treasurer was $16,540.19, an increase of $628.34 over the previous year. Included in the total amount was $4,736.20 for con- servation licenses and $4,833.65 for dog licenses.
