ADJOURNED ANNUAL TOWN MEETING - MARCH 21, 1962
Pursuant to the vote of adjournment of March 19, 1962, and written notices sent by mail by the Town Clerk, the town meeting members met in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening, March 21, 1962, to act upon the remain- ing articles set forth in the Warrant for the Annual Town Meeting.
Lists of the duly qualified town meeting members were used at the en- trances to the meeting place and were in charge of Mary A. Farrington and Charlotte E. Emerson. The lists contained the names of two hundred forty (240) town meeting members and seven (7) town meeting members at large qualified to participate and vote in town meetings in Arlington.
The check lists filed with the Town Clerk at the close of the meeting by the checkers showed that two hundred six (206) town meeting members and seven (7) town meeting members at large (86.2% of total - 247) attended the meeting.
The Moderator, Lawrence E. Corcoran, declaring a quorum present, called the meeting to order at 8:05 P.M.
The meeting was opened with the singing of "The Star Spangled Banner" by the assembly accompanied by Mr. Anton Kovar, pianist and Mr. Richard Laman, trumpeter, both of the School Department.
The invocation was given by Right Reverend Philip J. Kearney, Pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church.
The Town Meeting Members who had not previously been sworn were thereupon sworn by the Moderator.
On motion of Selectmen Homer, duly made and seconded, it was
VOTED: That if all the business of the meeting as set forth in the Warrant is not disposed of at this session, when the meeting adjourns, it adjourns to Monday evening, March 26, 1962, at 8:00 o'clock.
The Moderator declared Article 31 to be now before the meeting.
