WARRANT FOR TOWN MEETING, MARCH 1, 1880.

MIDDLESEX, SS.


To John Lanktree, one of the Constables of the Town of Westford, GREETING :


You are hereby required in the name of the Com- monwealth aforesaid, to notify and warn all the inhabi- tants of said town qualified to vote in elections and also in town affairs, to meet at the Town House in said Westford, on Monday, the first day of March, being the first Monday in said month, at 9 o'clock, A. M., (the polls will be opened at 9 o'clock, A. M., and closed at 1 o'clock, P. M.,) to act upon the following articles, to wit :-


1. To choose a Moderator.


2. To hear Report of Selectmen and act in relation to the same.


3. To hear Report of Committee to reckon with the Town Treasurer and act in relation to the same.


4. To hear Report of Overseers of Poor and act in relation to the same.


5. To hear Report of School Committee and act in relation to the same.


6. To hear Report of Directors of Town Library and act in rela- tion to the same.


7. To hear Report of Selectmen on Guide Boards and act in relation to the same.

8. To hear Report of Auditor-as authorized by vote of Town, March 1879-and act in relation to the same.


9. To see if the Town will vote to accept the Report of the Over- seers of Poor, made March, 1879, or act in relation to the same.


10. To bring in their votes for Town Clerk, three Selectmen, three Assessors, three Overseers of the Poor, Town Treasurer, two School Committee for three years, three Fence Viewers, six Constables, three Appraisers of Property at Poor Farm, all on one ballot.


11. To raise money to defray Town Debts and Charges, and direct how the same shall be paid into the Treasury, or act in relation to the same.


12. To raise money for Reading and Writing Schools.


13. To choose a Collector of Taxes.


14. To see if the Town will authorize the Town Treasurer, under the written direction of the Selectmen, to borrow money, from time to time, to meet the demands on the Treasury, or act in relation to the same.


15. To see if the Town will accept the List of Jurors as reported by the Selectmen, or act in relation to the same.


16. To raise money to repair Roads and Bridges, and direct by whom and in what manner the same shall be expended.


17. To choose all other Town Officers, necessary to be chosen by hand vote, or act in relation to the same.


18. To hear Report of Selectmen upon wall at East Burying Ground and act in relation to the same.


19. To see if the Town will authorize the employment of a com- petent person to examine the Town House and ascertain in what manner it can best be repaired and improved, with an estimate of the expense, the whole information so ob- tained to be reported at the next Town Meeting.


20. To see if the Town will vote to widen and straighten the road in Graniteville, commencing at the lower Bridge over Stony Brook and running to corner of road, at land of Abbot Worsted Co.


21. To hear Report of Selectmen upon Private Way, petitioned for by John Gregg and others, and act in relation to the same.


22. To see what action the Town will take in regard to repairing and widening the swamproad, leading from Wm. Laws' to Chelmsford line.

And you are directed to serve this warrant by post- ing up true and attested copies at Town House and each Depot in said Westford, eight days at least before the time of holding said meeting.


Hereof fail not, and make return of this warrant with your doings thereon, to the Town Clerk at the time and place of holding the meeting aforesaid.
