Left Australia in 1888, and went to London. In 1890 came to U. S., and for ten years engaged in newspaper work in N. Y. City and San Francisco, varied by writing of short fiction. First play, Abigail, produced at Savoy Theatre, N. Y., 1905 (Grace George playing the "star" rôle), followed in same year, at same theatre, by A Case of Frenzied Finance. In 1906, made a dramatic version of David Copperfield, produced in England by Charles Cart- wright; and in the same year wrote comedy, The Butterfly, in which Lillian Russell toured until the summer of 1907. In 1908 collaborated with Mme. Fred de Gresac on Cora, a drama produced by Har- rison Grey Fiske, with Bertha Kallsh in the title rôle. In 1909 wrote comedy, An American Widow, by Henry B. Harris, at the Hudson Theatre. During season of 1911-1912, was represented by musical comedy, Betsy, at Herald Sq.
