Mr. Evans, Mr. Finley, and Mr. Brackenridge, a committee from the General Assembly, attending, were introduced, and a con- ference had upon the subject of the proposed reservation of a tract of country bounding upon Lake Erie, within the limits of this Commonwealth.
An order was drawn upon the Treasurer in favor of the Com- missioners for laying out a road from Miller's Spring to Fort Pitt, for one hundred and fourteen pounds fourteen shillings, being the ballance due upon their account for their services and expences in laying out the said road, agreeably to act of Assembly dated 21st of September, 1785.
The proposals of John Skinner, of the county of Franklin, " for making a good and sufficient road between the east side of Clark's Gap to the place commonly known by the name of the Burnt Cab- bins, (being a part of the State highway provided by act of As- sembly of the twenty first of September, 1785,) for and in consi- deration of the sum of six hundred pounds in gold or silver, or other money current with the merchants of this Commonwealth, &ca., &ca.," were read and accepted, and an order taken that Matthew Henderson and John Rennets, Esquires, of the town of Shippensburgh and county of Cumberland, beappointed and autho-

rized to execute the contract on the part of the State, with the said Skinner, agreeably to proposals aforesaid.
Ordered, also, That Robert Peoples, William Rippey, Francis Campbell, Daniel Duncan and William Barr, of the county of Cum- berland, who have offered themselves as sureties for John Skinner, in fulfilling the above mentioned contract, be accepted as such.
The petition of Ephraim Douglass, Esquire, stating " that he had been appointed (by the approbation of Council,) a Deputy Surveyor of part of district No. 3, in the depreciation lands ; that by a second resolution of the Board he was superceded by another person, who, finding the business executed, declined acting under his appoint- ment," and therefore, praying " the Council will enable him to make return of his surveys in the district aforesaid," was read, and order taken that the Surveyor General be directed to receive the petitioner's returns of survey.

The petition of Edward Milne, of this city, praying a further indulgence in point of time, for discharging a ballance due by him to the State, upon an acco't subsisting between them, was read, and an order taken that the farther term of six months from this day be given him for the payment of the said ballance.

A deed was examined and signed by the Vice President, for one hundred and eighty-two acres and sixty-two perches of land, situate in Allen township, in the county of Northampton, late the estate of Andrew Allen, and forfeited to this Commonwealth by his at- tainder of high treason : Consideration money eight hundred and thirty-two pounds nineteen shillings. Deed dated the twentieth day of October, 1786.
An order was taken, upon motion, that as Dorsey Penticoast, Esquire, late Judge of the Court of Common Pleas and President of that Court, for the county of Washington, has removed from the county aforesaid, and is now settled in a neighbouring State, that he be suspended in the offices aforesaid.

An order was drawn in favor of William Rees, for forty-four pounds five shillings and eight pence, for improving the State House lot, according to the Comptroller General's report of the 11th inst.
The Commissioners for negociating an improved Inland Naviga- tion, attended, agreeably to the order of yesterday.
An order was drawn upon the Treasurer in favor of Captain James McLean, for twenty-six pounds five shillings, in full of his account for house rent, according to the Comptroller General's report of this day.
