A reconsideration of Michael Conner's petition was had, and an order taken that the operation of the attainder to which he is now liable be suspended until the end of the next session of the General Assembly.
The petition of George Sturmfels, stating that on the twenty- seventh of August, 1779, he purchased the confiscated estate of Arthur Thomas, subject to a yearly ground rent of one pound twelve shillings sterling, payable to the late Proprietaries, and in arrears from March, 1774, and praying that the arrears of the said ground rent between the year 1774 and the time he purchased, may be discharged by the State, was read and referred to the Agents for the sale of Confiscated Estates in the county of Philadelphia.
Eli Mead, Esquire, was appointed and commissionated a Justice of the Peace for the district of Wioming and county of Northum- berland, upon a return made according to law. Mr. Mead was also appointed and commissionated a Justice of the Court of Com- mon Pleas for the county aforesaid.
David Espy, Esquire, was appointed and commissionated a Jus- tice of the Peace for the town of Bedford and county of Bedford, upon a return made according to law. Mr. Espy was also ap- pointed a Justice of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the said county.
A letter from Henry William Archer, Esquire, Lieutenant of the county of Northampton, requesting leave to resign the said office, was read, and his resignation accepted.

The fines imposed upon Catharine McIlmay, Mary Tennant and Anne Young, upon conviction of a riot at the last City Court, were remitted.
An order was taken that the district of depreciation land sur- veyed by Mr. Elder, be exposed to public sale at the old Coffee House in this city, on Wednesday the sixth day of September next; and that the depreciation lots bought in by Samuel Nichol- son for the State, at a former sale, being part of his district, be sold at the same time and place.
Ordered, That the Receiver General of the Land Office be di- rected to advertize a further sale of city lots, to be held on the nineteenth instant, to wit: the lots numbered from 1829 to 1920, inclusively, situate on both sides of Market street, between Fifth and Seventh streets from Schuylkill.

In favor of James Mccutcheon, for sixteen pounds seven shil- lings, in full of his account for beef furnished by him to a number of the natives of China and India, under a resolution of Assembly dated the seventh of November, 1785.
In favor of Captain Joseph Stiles, Commissary of Military Stores, for forty pounds two shillings and one penny State money, and two hundred and sixty-two pounds nine shillings and one penny specie, being due to him as Commissary of Military Stores to the first of October, 1785, according to the Comptroller General's report of the ninth day of February, 1786.

Ordered, That the pay of the Commissary of Military Stores be fixed at fifty pounds per annum.

The corporal punishment to which John Carmichael was sen- tenced at the Court of General Quarter Sessions held in July last for the county of York, on conviction of larceny, was this day re- mitted, on the petition of the said Carmichael and the recommen- dation of the Court.
Representation being made that the election of Justices of the Peace for the district of Doe Run, and county of Chester, held on the twenty-seventh day of February, 1786, was not conducted according to law, and witnesses being named in support of the charge aforesaid :
Ordered, That the return and other evidences of the said elec- tion, with the remonstrance against it, be transmitted to William Clingan, John Culbertson, and Isaac Taylor, Esquires, who are hereby directed to investigate the above mentioned charge, and as soon as possible, report to the Board the testimony which may be offered in the case.

Henry Miller, Esquire, was appointed and commissioned a Jus- tice of the Court of Common Pleas, in and for the county of York.
The fine imposed upon Anne Winters, upon conviction of larceny, in the city of Philadelphia, was remitted.
An order was drawn upon the Treasurer in favor of John Okely, Esquire, for forty-nine pounds ten shillings and one penny, in full of his account as one of the Commissioners appointed to divide the Islands in the river Delaware and to explore the navigation thereof, and its navigable branches, Lehigh and Lehawaxen.
The Council met.
