Chester: ye 2ª of october 1695: wee the Grand Jury by the kings Authority ffinding that the County is in Dept by the accounts that the last Grand Jury presented that the County Tresurer is oute of Purse & others in the Consarns of the County Charge & that the prison is not yet finished & severall wolfs heads to pay for: we the Grand Inquest have taken it into our Consideration to lay an A seasement apon the County ffor to pay the Judges expences which is to be payd to Joseph Wood Sheriff of Chester County and what was Disburst by the said Tresurer of sd County Consarning the building of the Prison and to ffinish the said County prison with as much expedition as may be and the said levie to be raised as followeth on All Reall and personall Esteats Att one penny pr pound and three shillings per head freemen: (viz) Every Acre of Clear® land and being in Tillage Att one pound pr Acre and for every hundred Acres of Ruf land by the River at Ten pounds per hundred and for every handred Acres in the woods Att five pounds per hundred: for All horsis and mares

Therefore it is Considered that the sd Samuell Harrison ac- cording to the forme of the sd Statute shall forfit and loose all the said Comodityes Imported as afores" As alsoe the så ship or vessell called the Pensilvania marchant one which the same were Imported with all her Gunns Takle ffurniture am- munition & apparell one Third part thereof To the sª Lord the king one third part thereof to the s" Gov' and the other third part thereof to the s" John Tests owne proper use and the aforesd Samuell Harrison m' m'cy &c:


Whereapon It was ordered by ye said Court that Jonathan Belch Henry Hollingsworth & William Coebourne should goe one board the sd ship or vessell and make a True Apraisment of the same vessell with her Guns Tackle ffurniture ammuni- tion and Apparell as alsoc of the goods therein upon their Attestations under their hands and forthwith make returne to the sd Court of their Doeings therein : In pursuance whereof they the sd Jonathan Belch Henry Hollingsworth & William Coebourne Afterwards to witt the same Day yeare & place aforesaid Did accordingly returne here A Certaine Appraise- ment or valluation of the said ship or vessell Called the pen- silvania marchant with all the Tackle furniture Apparell goods and Comodityes whatsoever which the water Bayliff of this province had formerly found therein and seized therewith and now A Judged to be forfeited as Aforesaid: by which It Ap- pears that first the said ship Tackle ffurniture & Apparell are Appraised Att sixty pounds Alsoe Two Thousand of pau tiles att Two pounds Ten shillings alsoe eighteen barrells of Coales at ffive pounds Alsoe Two piggs of lead att Twelve shillings alsoe Tarr & pitch att one pound Ten shillings alsoe Two barrels of Beefe Att Two pounds alsoe Two barrells of bread att one pound fourteen shillings and Alsoe pork pease and ffish att fiveteen shillings In all A mounting to the sum of seventy four pounds & one shilling: whereupon It is further Considered by the same Court that the said ship or vessell Called the pensilvania marchant with her said Tackle ffurniture and Apparell Togather with the goods and Comodityes Afore-
