William Clayton being attested in Oppen Court declareth that John Wickham having putt a Chest into his house and upon ye mooving him out of one roome into another he found ye Chest to be loose and Broaken which he Informed John Wickham of Who told him that he had in y& Chest 10& Spanish money two pounds Boston money 2 gold rings 1 Brasse ring one Silver Watch and one silver Spoone which when ye said Wickham came to Examine he found Wanting and this De- ponent Saith he doe beleeve noe other son had ye Oppertunity to breake it oppen butt this prisoner
Jeremy Collett being againe attested in Oppen Court de- clareth that coming downe to Chichester with John Wickham he the sd John Imediately putt his hand into ye Chest and said he was undone for he had left those things which before William Clayton had attested ye same and while they sent for ye Constaple he did Conceive that ye Prisoner was Surprised with fear and troubled
Richard Buffington being againe attested in Oppen Court Declareth that when he tooke the money out of ye Prisoners Pockett the Prisoner told hin that he brought ye ps & out of Jamaica which afterward ye told John Bristow he had from Thomas Budds sonne and further ye Prisoner said he would proove ye same

The Grand Inquest having inquired into and found ve Pub- licke Charges of this County for ye service of y& Provinciall Councellmen and Assembly the Cost of ye Court House and Prison &c presented ye Same to this Court in a Schedulle by them drawne up and Concluded
Upon which the Court for defraying ye same ordered a Levie to be raised (viz)
